This print is one of three Jean Geiser photographs from a collection I purchased. All photos were dated the same and in the same hand written style and all were of the Arab/ Moor ethnographic subject matter. He wears a wide brimmed hat and fringed. Buckskin jacket and pants. 1934 RCA AM/SW Radio Model 118 Nice Cabinet Powers Up
1934 RCA Model 118 Radio with AM/SW Reception Very nice 5 tube. Superhet RCA radio with AM and Shortwave reception. I did not do any work on this radio but it appears someone may have. The cord appears original and will need to be replaced but I powered the radio up and the dial light came on and I was able to get one strong local station but that is all. It does need an external antenna wire but I did not have one. The cabinet is in nice shape and appears original. There are some very small paint flecks on the top but I'm sure they can be removed. The dial is a bit stiff but does turn from end to end. One knob looks like it might not be original but I am not sure. Original ca1891 Indian Wars period Cabinet Photograph of two Native American Brule Lakota Sioux Indian Cavalrymen- members of Troop L of the 6th United States Cavalry which was stationed at the time in the"Badlands" of South Dakota or Nebraska near Wounded Knee. The image is not identified in any way but the two Soldiers wear military uniforms with kepis that have the crossed sword insignia of Troop L of the 6th Regiment, United States Cavalry. This simply fantastic U. S. Cavalry/ Native American Cavalrymen Cabinet Card Photograph measures approx. 3 7/8" by 5 1/2" and is mounted on the original photographer’s card mount(overall size of mount is 4 1/4” by 6 1/2" It pictures Two Brule Sioux Braves dressed in Indian Wars period Cavalry uniforms nin a photographer's studio. The older ... moreman is seated while the younger stands against a snow covered mountain. Painted backdrop. Interestingly, the seated Cavalryman wears some sort of medal on his jacket as well as a cavalry sword in its sheath at his belt. While this Photograph is not further identified. Other than the insignia on the cavalrymen's kepi, much information can be gleaned from this simply insignia. In March of 1891 shortly after the massacre at Wounded Knee. The War Department issued General Order No. 28 which authorized the enlistment of Native American Indians into Troop L of all cavalry regiments(except the Ninth and Tenth) and Company I of all infantry regiments(except the Sixth, Eleventh, Fifteenth, Nineteenth, Twenty-fourth and Twenty-fifth) Up to fifty-five men were to be recruited to fill each Troop or Company of“Indian Soldiers” General Order No. 28 assigned five Indian companies to the Department of Dakota: Troop L, Sixth Cavalry, was to be recruited from among the Brule Sioux Indians of Chief Spotted Tails Band which lived on at the Rosebud Agency in South Dakota. A very fine antique. Circa 1840, Empire plain mahogany boards, with some flame mahogany veneers, bookcase top secretary desk over two door cabinet. Two piece construction: the bookcase with three adjustable wood shelves, the interior with an old ivory paint finish. Both doors retain their original wavy glass, brass escutcheon, key and lock. The drop front desk has a felt writing surface, cubbyhole with two drawers and letter slots. The two bottom doors have a brass grill over dowel framed pink fabric, with brass escutcheon and lock. The compartment has a removable wood shelf. The furniture measures 7'2" 86" tall by 2'1" 25" wide by 22-1/2" deep, the bookcase shelves 10" deep. This is an especially nice small size octagon bolt cabinet. Would have originally been in a country store hardware store for the sale of bolts. Screws, etc. Approximately 23 inch diameter and 32 inches tall. Piece rotates easily on a base-like a lazy Susan. Each of the 72 triangular drawers(8 rows) have great original stenciling indicating the size of the piece inside. Additionally, each drawer has a pretty porcelain knob pull on the drawer. Vintage PerFit 6 drawer metal watchmakers cabinet with 3 1/2 drawers full of crystals. Numerous crystals in open boxes for makers such as; Gruen. Hamilton, Elgin, Bulova, Wittnauer, Waltham, Illinois, Benrus. Each drawer measures 1 1/4" tall by 16 1/2" long by 15 3/4" deep and holds 96 boxes. Some boxes have more than 1 crystal in them and some of the crystals are not in their correct box due to shifting when the cabinet was transported. Would estimate at least 400 plus crystals. Looks like all crystals have a sticker showing the part number and maker. Cabinet measures 10 1/4" tall by 18 1/2" long by 16 1/4" deep and has scratches on the top. Pic#11 shows one side with a white sticker which I will remove. This is VERY HEAVY and shipping is an estimate. This is a great old cabinet card photograph of two twin who are obviously twins and dressed in matching clothes. They are not exactly the same on a closer look but they are enough alike to reinforce the twin thing. The picture is sepia and was taken at the Wingard Studio. 173 W. Indiana Street, Chicago, Ill. It is in excellent condition with no bends, creases, tears, stains or writing on it.
