This tray or bowl does have wear. But I think it is from 1896. If that is true, then this is not in bad shape at all. I don't know if that date is 1896 or 1996. I did a search on that company and it does not look like it was still operating in 1996. I don't know what the other inscription says for sure, maybe"Alton" The top rim of the dish is 1 7/8" tall. The handle adds another 5 1/4" height. Long width of the tray is 11" and it is 8 1/4" the other way. This is more of a bowl than a tray and it might be called a basket. Picture#10 shows the scratching in the dish area. No loose parts, could use a good polish.

The outer edge of the bowl is 12 `/4" by 9 1/4" in an oval diameter. This serving piece has nice weight and high quality thickness to it and weighs 1 pounds 14 oz. This beautiful piece is stamped with the markings for Middletown Silver Co. F404 on the bottom. This bowl has been used and has very minor surface marks and no chips or dents. There are silver plate hallmarks along edge, please see close up pics. This is a very nice serving piece with very ornate silver metal ram's horn and spindled butterscotch Bakelite handles. The footed feet on this serving piece are very ornate, please see close up pics. It has some light surface scratches inside the bottom of dish from normal use. It is 9 1/2" With bowl 4" x 2 1/4" It has silverplate hallmarks which tell the date, place of manufacture and maker, but I can't decipher them. No nicks and only minor scratchs but silverplate is worn in places on front and back of bowl. Second is a large serving spoon in Old English pattern as well. It is 9" in length. Sterling Silver Salad Serving Set, Gold Washed, "Oval Twist" by Whiting 1880
Offered here is a handsome sterling silver salad set in the Oval Twist pattern first issued by Whiting in 1880. The fork is 9 3/4" in length and has one tine that is a bit bent in and has a creased bent at about a quarter inch from the end of the tine. The spoon is about 9 1/4" and has a couple of pepper flake dark spots and one tiny ding in the bowl. Both have gold washed"business ends" with the spoon being a little lighter than the fork. Probably from greater use. Weighing in at a little over 4 ounces Troy between then, and apart from the issues mentioned above, they are in good used condition with some minor use scuffing. Large antique circa late 1700's/early 1800's American(southeast Pa. redware lead and manganese glazed and slip decorated charger/bowl. The plate is round with a slightly flat bottom and flared rounded sides terminating in a coggled rim. It has orange-brown colored background glaze. It has decoration comprised of a three groups of three wavy lines on top. The middle and bottom all in yellow slip. Back of charger has an old hand-written note attached stating that this is from the"Homestead of Sadie Germain. Probably her Mother's" The back has a very nice patina. Dansk San Nicolo Oval Serving Platter- Pristine Excellent Used Condition This serving platter came from an estate sale and is in excellent used condition. Although it appears to have never been used. No chips, cracks, utensil wear- no signs of any wear at all. The platter measures 15 1/2" across and 11" wide. And 1 1/4" tall. The San Nicolo line was made in Indonesia and hand-painted in cobalt blue, yellow, and green and bears the stamp of Dansk quality and design.
