It would fit perfectly onto the solid area with just the pierced outside edge showing. The plate is divided into 6 segments' with a raised rib between each section and a little scallop on the edge between each rib. The plate has a pretty chased floral pattern just within and outside the center depression. This plate could also be used as a small serving tray for petite desserts. This is a very nice round vintage serving tray made of Revere Pewter along the edge and a formica wood grain base. It measures approx. 12 1/8” across and 1 1/4” tall. The side edge has an open quatrefoil design. The flat portion is brown wood grain Formica. This still has the original Formica Brand laminated plastic sticker with a Good Housekeeping seal of approval. The bottom edge of the silver is stamped Revere Pewter. This piece is in good condition with some tarnishing and minor denting/surface scratches. Estate find should polish up nicely! I am not an expert. I have a lovely tray in this offering. It is 13 1/2 inch across. The outside frame is wood and the inside is glass. The handles are brass which are very worn. The wood frame is a bit dinged up mainly on the edges. You are buying it this way. There is a piece of crochet work in the center under the glass. I have shown a place on the frame that is split. There are 4 of these s plits. I think thi s is where the frame opens to put anything you like under the glass. I am not sure if this is how it opens. I am just guessing. Dents or rust- the inner part of the tray is yellowish or gold toned in color, where the floral and scroll is- I don't know if it was made that way or has yellowed over time? there are minor surface scratches from use and some grayish discoloration on the surface of the tray and some yellowing outside the center, like rubbing on the silver plate and I'm not sure if it's wear on the silver ... moreor the gold tone color? The tray has the floral scroll center. In the retired"Zia" pattern(circa 1986) it's rimmed with a geometric Southwestern pattern highlighted in turquoise of bars. Dots, and wavy lines reminiscent of water. Backside is stamped Wilton Mount Joy PA USA. Wilton Armetale metal serveware is known for its beauty. Durability, and unique design. Will not rust, tarnish, crack, chip, or dent. This pretty pink depression glass cake plate sets on a ring of glass beads. There are a few insignificant scratches on the face of the plate; also an extended straw mark. Otherwise no chips. Cracks, or bruises; the glass is clear and shiny. The pink beaded foot is unblemished and charming. This lovely cake plate is safely packed with a generous amount of bubble wrap and packing peanuts.
