Fabulous pair of antique WANG HING silver water lily serving spoons
STUNNING PAIR OF WANG HING SILVER SERVING SPOONS A pair of absolutely beautiful silver serving spoons by Wang Hing. I don't know a lot about Wang Hing but I was told that he exported silver to the UK from the Victorian period onward and items were sold through Liberty's. What I can tell you is these silver serving spoons are stunning. They are quite substantial measuring 9 inches long and weighing approx 123g. The handles are bamboo design with 2 lily flowers wrapped around the center. The bowls are shaped to be the leaves of the lily. They are both stamped Wang Hing. There is a patch of scratches on the back of one of the lilies and one of the spoons is very slightly bent which can be rectified. For auction: 2 large serving spoons in Old English pattern. One is flat sided and called an"aspargus sauce spoon" I have found it useful for lasagna or casseroles. It is 9 1/2" With bowl 4" x 2 1/4" It has silverplate hallmarks which tell the date, place of manufacture and maker, but I can't decipher them. No nicks and only minor scratchs but silverplate is worn in places on front and back of bowl. Second is a large serving spoon in Old English pattern as well. It is 9" in length. Bowl is 3 1/4" x 2" It also has some silverplate wear on bowl back and a bit on front. Silverplate hallmarks. Useful as is but both would be spectacular once replated. Nice weight and balance. PAIR HESTER BATEMAN LONDON STERLING SILVER 8-3/8" TABLE SERVING SPOONS DATED 17 80 I have som e extraordinary sterling items for your consideration this week. Most qu ite old English pieces like this pair of Hester Bateman sterling silver serving spoons. 8-3/8" in length. These are date coded to 1780, London and have a modified bead trim around the outside edge of the stem s and handles. The bowls are egg-shaped and measure 3" by 1-5/8" wide. Tho ugh not pictured. These spoons have a shortened Hanoverian drop at the heel an d a Hanoverian terminal on the back side of the stem. They are engraved at the handle in script. JC, I believe. One spoon is very slightly mis-shapen at the outside edge of the bowl. That spoon is the lower one in the first photo. Above and this is a very min or issue. The lion passant( London sterling standard) Date code for 1780 and the maker's mark for Hester Bateman(HB in script) who was registered in London between 1774 and 1784. Pair of Large Antique Francis I Sterling Pierced Serving Spoons Old Marks
This is a pair of large heavy all sterling serving spoons in the Francis 1st pattern by Reed and Barton. Both have pierced bowls. One has and open end like a spork, one is a spoon. Together they weights 190.5 grams sterling. They have the old hallmarks. They are in very good condition with only surface scratches, no pitting, no dings or deep scratches. The detail is very deep and crisp unlike the newer pieces of Francis 1. No monogram. They measure 8 3/8" long. I have some other rare pieces of Francis 1st so check my other auctions. Rodgers IS with two hallmarks, one on each side of the Roger’s name. One hallmark is a star and the other appears to be a bird. The fruit pattern looks like an orange in the center, with grapes to the right side along with some leaves. The border design and rounded shape of the handle tip looks very Art Deco to me. I’m sorry I don’t know the exact age or name of this flatware but I believe it is a minimum of 70 years old as my mom received it in the early 1940’s; it may be older. Both pieces are solid. 4 Matching Antique Russian silver serving/coffee spoons with Deco design--5"

But their"Russian 84 silver" marked 40.76) is what is usually found from the former soviet Union. The spoon is marked USSR and the maker is TJ. This pretty bowl and matching salad serving utensil set are one of the earlier pieces of Carltonware. The registry number on the bottom dates this piece to 1890. The first year the company started. The mark on the base is in blue transfer and reads"W& R-Stoke-on-Trent-Carltonware" Wiltshaw& Robinson started this company and ran the company under their name and Carltonware interchangeably from 1890 to 1957. From 1958 on, the name Carltonware was used solely for their products. The pattern on this beautiful bowl is called"Poppy" which is also on the bottom. It features two large poppy flower designs opposite each other and perpendicular on either side two smaller designs of poppies. The images are in a soft Navy blue and not Royal blue. The bowl measures 9"22.8 cm) in diameter and is 4 1/4"10.7 cm) tall. ... moreIt has a silver rim, with no discoloration or dents, that measures 1/2"1.3cm) It also has a 3/4"1.9 cm) foot" on the base. The two utensils are lovely too and are in wonderful condition. It is unusual that they are still with the bowl after 123 years. They each measure 10 1/2"26.8 cm) in length and the porcelain handles are 3 1/4"8.3 cm) long. The silver design at the base of the handles has the appearance similar to a Gothic window. The rim of the bowl is not marked, although the utensils are. Embossed on each are the markings HA, EA, PA. The bowl has no chips and the utensil handles don't either. There is a very fine light-colored line that measures 2 1/4"5.7 cm) that is visible on the bottom and inside the bowl, that is very hard to see and does not weaken the piece structurally at all. There also some very fine crazing lines on the bottom that are just on the outside surface, that are not discolored and are very hard to see. Includes approx 120 oval soup spoons 7 3/8 inches long. 40 teaspoons 6 inches long and 60 large serving spoons. 8.25 inches long. Approx 23 lbs total. In good condition, a few with scratches or a spot of wear on the heel. But most like new. Some never used. About 1/2 of them need a good polish, the rest either no polish or a touch up. Just to the left of where it is marked Sterling appears the maker’s mark– a“W” which sets over the upper left quarter of a circle. Watrous Mfg. Co. dates back to the 1800’s. But these do not appear that old. Though I am selling these as scrap. They really ought to be adorning someone’s prized collection. The toning has some splotchiness(see pics) But it appears superficial. There are no substantial mars that I can see. Polished I think they would look near new.
