HP 8991A Peak Power Analyzer with HP 84812A Peak Power Sensor - Nice!
A VERY NICE SYSTEM! I bought this combination on ebay when my Boonton 4400 quit. I fixed the Boonton and never got around to using this system. I tried it out a couple of times and it does seem to work correctly but I've never had it calibrated, never really used it, and never figured it out so I can't really vouch for its operation. To get the display you see in the picture I just hit the"AUTO-SCALE" button. The 84812A zeros correctly, using the markers I measured a positive peak value of +10 dBm and a negative peak value of-12dBm from the calibrator. With the sensor disconnected but unterminated, I measured a noise floor of-42dBm. The calibration seals are intact on the 8991A, the 84812A has been pried open for repair at some point.
