I ship only to registered PayPal addresses in the lower 48 states. Here's another parts by the pound auction. It's actually 1.34 pounds. But some of it is mounting hardware. Please don't ask what part numbers are here. They are as organized in these pictures as they ever were. I see some 200V 25A Triacs and at least 1 400V 25A. Many are brand new. Others are used pulls-some cleaned up and some with short wires still on the leads. The part numbers I looked up were all Triacs. But there may be some SCR's or transistors in the mix. Up for auction is a collectable vintage Introductory Sample Hughes Glass Germanium Diode along with the original plastic case with descriptive label. The label text is: INTRODUCTORY SAMPLE*HUGHES GERMANIUM DIODE RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT LABORATORIES HUGHES AIRCRAFT CO. CULVER CITY, CALIF. PATENT APPLIED FOR I would estimate the date of manufacturer to be the early to mid 1950s. Google Hughes semiconductor germanium diode and the first link to the smecc site will show the images of the Hughes brochure for this device. The leads on this example are of original length. Show no signs of soldering or forming but do show some surface oxidation. Diodes of this vintage in this condition are not common and the plastic case is rare. The plastic case does have a crack on the side and care must be taken while opening the case- see photo. The plastic ... morecase is complete and there are no missing pieces. The case opens and closes smoothly. I use a sharp knife on the seam to start the open process. The label is mildly faded. And one corner is lifting. All printing is still clear and readable. I tested the diode with a low voltage supply scan(2 VDC to +2 VDC with series 3k6 resistor) and can confirm that the device does function as a germanium diode(see photo of I-V trace) with the expected forward junction voltage between 0.2 and 0.3 Volts. This device predates modern“1N” part numbers. Given its age and rarity I would not anticipate this device being used for circuit repair. D ue to age and uncertainty of use before my time I am describing the device as used although I see no signs of use. This diode is from the estate of a long retired radio repairman.
