Novastar Model 13FD Sn NTI-13FS9308105 13" Finger wave. Foam Fluxer, 3 zones preheat, 63/37 solder in 400 lb pot 220 V. This machine was mfg in germany originally and you can still get all parts except for the controller. We powered this machine up and all works, theres 3 ceramic preheat rods on each side(6 total) that REALLY work well. The only thing is its low on solder probably needs around 100lbs maybe less as youll see in the video but you can also see it works. FYI I cleaned the heck out of this thing after the video so go back and look at pics again after viewing it! It could still use more cleaning inside the previous users werent neat thats for sure. Keio (Korg) Doncamatic Mini Pops 5 Drum Machine 1969 - needs some loving solder
Having a clear out of my musical gear. Including this nice- though in need of care- Keio Doncamatic Mini Pops 5 drum machine from 1968-1969. Please note: I originally listed this as untested for spares or repairs only. I have since been able to check this with a power cable that is not included with this sale- it definitely has some problems. But should be easy for someone with the right magic soldering powers to get up and running quickly. So. I pulled this off an old 70s Kawai organ that was just about to go into landfill at the recycling shop at the tip. It had no power lead as they'd all been cut off for recycling; it has an old Japanese horizontal 3-pin configuration that I'm not sure how to track down. I know that I had one item like this years ago and was able to find a tech to replace the power lead attachment- so I know it's ... morepossible and won't cost the earth. So. When I got to test this out all the settings and rhythms work, but the volume seems to be a bit quiet. Again, not a hard thing to fix for a competent electronically-minded person. Apart from that it's cosmetically pretty good- missing a few screws. But very few scratches and no corrosion. A shame, but I'm no electrician and so it's time to move it on. Anyway. These are from an early generation of drum machines, and so getting reasonably hard to track down. Keio was an early name for Korg, who went on to become, well, Korg. These machines have that classic Kraftwerk/ Suicide 70s sound. Which has been revived by a lot of people recently- not least the Gorrillaz, who named a song Doncamatic. The name's actually one of my favourite things about having owned this piece(apparently came from many of the sounds being like"Donca donna donna. Most famously, Jean Michel Jarre used a Minipops 5( not this model. But some similar sounds) on Oxygene.
