Vintage 100 - 155 MHz RF Signal Generator Works! Antique!
One of those odd things I picked up in my travels thinking"this might be good for parts some day" Well. I finally got around to cleaning up the shop And here it is. Imagine my surprise when I discovered that it seems to work! Powered up, an using a modern frequency counter, it actually spits out the indicated frequencies(well, OK, it's a bit off on the dial) No forther testing has been done. There is NO back for this, and it doesn't appear that one had ever been mounted(no screw holes on the back anywhere) The cabinet is wood( the front panel is metal, and the deluxe vintage masking tape function labels are included at no additional charge. This unit can be set to any desired frequency from about 100Khz to 110 Mhz via a 6 position range switch and and adjustable vernier dial and pointer. It produces either unmodulated or modulated(400hz tone) RF frequencies with adjustable attenuation via a 3 position coarse and a continuously variable fine attenuation control. This unit is useful anywhere an AM modulated or unmodulated RF signal between 100Khz and 110 Mhz is needed like: testing filter circuits. Adjusting tuners, receivers. shortwave radios, transceivers and any other kinds of frequency sensitive circuit devices. A needed tool for most any workbench! It is in very good physical and functional condition. The cabinet looks nearly new. With a fresh paint job. This unit originally came missing a modulation transformer. It has had the new BNC connectors installed in place of the original style microphone"button" connector. This gives you easy latitude to obtain and use any number of coaxial test leads and connectors commonly used on today's benches(I felt this was important to do) I provide a brand new coaxial BNC terminated set of test leads with gator clip ends to start you off. The switches have been cleaned. The controls have been cleaned and lubricated. And the unit was adjusted for output over all ranges. I checked the electrolytic capacitors for condition and filtration. I like my cabinets to look good. So the cabinet has been cleaned. Then Painted and it looks marvelous!
