This beauty stands almost 10" tall and is very perfectly stated in its crackled style top section that drips down into the rustic looking stone style base. In soft shades of grey, blue, green, yellows, and rust, sienna, and brown. This is piece#7 as indicated on the bottom with the crafters mark L. Dage Made in France. There are currently. Very few pieces on the market, most of which are found in specialized art galleries due to the rarity and creative styles used by this artist. Louis Dage was a Parisian ceramist. Active from about 1920 to 1930 and was nominated, in that short time, Meilleur Ouvrier de France in 1924, which is a very prestigious honor given to the very ... morebest craftsmen in all of France! Dage's work is credited at the origin of pieces with Art Deco shapes that are frequently enameled using a yellow typical of this ceramist. Art Deco French Art Pottery 6" Vase by Louis Dage Signed Pottery France c1920
I offer a Beautiful French Ceramiques Francaises 1920's Louis Dage signed pottery vase. It measure 6 1/4" high. This vase is oval formed vase decorated with Scroll and Scallop devices in Orange. White, Beige, and Black on a Blue Ground. The side is signed L. Dage and Made in France on the bottom. The French artist Louis Dage was voted best worker in France in 1924. Condition& Color is excellent. No chips(kiln mark on side from when it was fired) No cracks no breaks or crazing. It would certainly make a great addition in any art deco pottery collection. Skinner Auctions has a smaller similar piece, unsigned that has an estimate of $300-$500.
