A lovely ladies genuine vintage diamond ring. The ring is solid 18ct gold with platinum. The ring has an'18ct Plat' stamp inside the shank. This shows that the ring shank is 18ct yellow gold and the crown and shoulders are platinum. The classic style and design of this ring suggests that it would date to around the 1920s era. A stunning shank setting featuring two dazzling natural genuine central diamonds with two smaller diamonds on the platinum shoulders. The diamonds are an old style brilliant-cut stones. They are an excellent dazzly white colour and good clear clarity with no imperfections visible to the naked eye- the diamonds are encased in a smooth platinum rubover mount which means they will not catch on clothes. A large size, 10, but I think it could be worn by a man or a woman. it's a bit tarnished, I leave that alone, many prefer the aged look. this is three bands soldered together in the back of the ring. there is a small piece of what appears to be glossy black onyx, that is sort of"woven" into the silver. very unique. marked Mexico, 925. in the back, where the three bands are joined together, there is a bit of a line, or mark. does not affect the wearability or value of this hand crafted fine ring. lightweight, I am guessing 5-8 grams. it is 3/8 of an inch wide. the section where the stone is located and the small twist on each side is approx. 1/2 inches from east to west. On that night the Palace was severely damaged, the chamber of the House of Commons was destroyed and three people were killed. I am auctioning an ashtray made from the reclaimed stone from the Houses of Parliament. London, England after the May bombing in 1941. The ashtray is made from a chunk of stone.
