Vtg Chinese Pottery Roof Tile K. Y. Lin Warrior on Elephant Statue Figurine. For your consideration is a Chinese Roof Tile hand made and painted by K. Y. Lin. K.Y. Lin is a Tawain art restorer who is one of the foremost artists of this art form. He continues to make these exquisite roof tiles but only through private commissions. Figures such as these have historically been found surrounding the terra cotta roofs on Chinese temples to offer protection to those who enter. This roof tiles depicts a warrior riding an elephant. Mounted on an acrylic stand the pottery has a polychrome finish. Clearly stamped on the back. Measures 16-inches tall; 13-inches wide. The statue weighs 9 pounds and shipping weight will be approximately 13 pounds. There are no chips or cracks. Some minor age to the ceramic. I buy from estate sales. A group of eight matching circa 1900 cast iron"snowbirds" 12" long plate with 3 1/2" by 6 1/2" fan shaped"bird" Made by F W PETER& BRO. NEWSIDE, PA. they are marked with a patent of August 12, 1902, marked around the center piercing on the bird. These were used in Northern states to break up heavy snow and ice from the roof. It helped with the weight of the snow on the roof and prevented large sheets of it from crashing down on those below. Growing up in Ohio, I remember seeing these staggered along the roof edge on grand old slate-roofed houses. The eight birds all have some surface rust and roughness from years of service but they are all still perfectly sound and ready for another 100 years of watching over your house. I never thought of the missing M8 nut until I was loading bikes so made do with what was at hand! I just used a toggle nut with a washer and little piece of copper pipe for a spacer. Included with package! M8 Lock nut lock needs key but Thule can replace w/ number on lock: N111R. I never had the bike wheel straps but if I can find my little velcro straps I used. I'll pass'em on. I also have used U-bolts with flat plate and wing nuts. I may have a couple of sets if you want'em. Bikes are secure without wheel straps. This is a decorative Victorian style bird house. It is made from a combination of tin metal and wood. the sides are painted antique green the front is done in wood tones. it is 29" inches in height. With a 5& 1/2 inches across the base at the bottom. this is a reproduction. I don't know its age. please ask questions. thank you for looking.

Vintage Japan Thatched Roof Salt and Pepper Shakers
The top of these shakers have a"thatched roof" which is where the shaker holes are- 5 holes in one and 3 in another. The thatched roof is over a scene of a cottage and trees. There is a MADE IN JAPAN red sticker on both and the letter R with a symbol above it is imprinted on bottom also. There are nice plastic stoppers too. The only damage I can see is a small scrape of paint loss in the thatched roof on the back of shaker displayed in last photo. These are priced to sell!
