Vintage Chinese Figure Chess Set Highly Detailed Beautiful Craftsmanship Resin?
Up for Auction! Estate Sale Find! This is a beautiful hand carved chess set. The craftsmanship is fantastic. I believe this set is made of a heavy resin material. But I am not sure. The Asian figures, horses, dragons, robes etc. are superb in their detail. The pieces are very clean and in good condition, but not perfect condition. There are some chips. There is a head missing on one of the pieces and a horses head is broken off but I do have it. I will show those two pieces in the pictures. The case folds up to store the pieces and each piece sits in the case in their own slots. The slots are filled with a satin material and are padded to protect the pieces. Each lid that covers the pieces in the case are also covered in a satin material. The latch on the case does not work. The case measures 22" x 11"x 5" and will weigh in ... moreat about 15 pounds. The jumbo elephant shelf display piece stands about 4 in tall and 5 in long and is made of some kind of resin it does have some wear and is starting to crack here and there but still in great shape. There is also a 1lb jumbo glass jar in good shape it is marked on the bottom with a saying"Jumbo good enuf for me" This is a really neat set ready for your collection. For sale is a custom-made replica prop jetpack from the 1991 Disney film“ The Rocketeer” The resin cast was made from reference photos and technical drawings at Monsters in Motion. The entire kit began as pure white and included numerous raw resin pieces that had to be painstakingly removed. For months the kit was meticulously drilled. Puttied and sanded before the color details were custom painted after exhaustive film and Internet research. Finally. The fan, gas springs, engine components, and replica piece of used chewing gum were added. It took me countless labor-intensive hours spanning over one year to complete. The jetpack will include TWO custom-made leather harnesses that are interchangeable on the resin jetpack. One is small enough for a child and the other is large enough for anadult. The current fabric liner can easily be removed. The chin-strap is leather and was made by a professional. The replica German Mauser C96 gun is made out of metal and it has a good. Solid weight to it. I have painted and detailed the gun to appear authentic. It obviously does not operate as a real gun. I can supply additional photos of the helmet and the gun if you are interested. Here is a fabulous. Mid-century starburst mirror in gold with light, white-washing. The frame has a distinct art deco look. The 7.25" convex mirror is generous in size and gives this piece a wonderful, three dimensional look. Top and bottom points of the starburst are slightly raised(intentional) adding to its interest. It raises off the wall 3/4" at the top and 1.5" at the bottom. Made of heavy resin, this piece is substantial and sturdy.
