PIRATE TREASURE. PORT ROYAL SILVER RING WITH CITRINE STONE, 1692 This Spanish coral encrusted silver ring with a large citrine stone top was found among the ruins of an old stone building that was a tavern along the old shore line of Port Republic. Jamaica that was destroyed in 1692. The ring part is about a woman’s size 9 with a fancy design cast in on both sides of the oval stone on top that is 7/16” x 5/16” It is in good condition. Still has some coral encrustation on the silver parts& was only cleaned with warm water& mild dish detergent to remove the salt water.It was ion display in the Port Royal Museum for many years. Artifacts from Port Royal are now considered to be quite rare& are never seen at antique shows anymore. Port Royal Bay is now so polluted from the sewers of the nearby city that it is dangerous to swim or ... moredive in the water! See the Spanish solid silver cross. PIRATE TREASURE. CORAL ENCRUSTED SPANISH CROSS, PORT ROYAL, 1692. This is genuine pirate treasure. A coral encrusted Spanish cross that is from the pirate strong hold of Port Royal. Jamacia& was made before 1692. It was in the Port Royal Museum on display for many years until the museum closed down& it's collection sold. It was found in the remains of a stone walled building that may have been a tavern along with several other Spanish artifacts near Morgan’s Line. These walls were a series of cannon emplacements along the shore of the old sunken part of Port Royal harbor. These fortifications were built by the pirate Henry Morgan when he was appointed the Lieutenant Governor in 1674 to 75. 1678& finished in 1680-1682& were built to protect the city from the Spanish or French. It is 1 13/16" x 1 7/16" is in good ... moreas found condition with some of coral encrustation& a dark patina. The port was destroyed by an earth quake on June 7. 1692 when most of the port of the city was submerged. This cross is in as found condition& was only washed with warm water to clean off the salt water. There have not been any artifacts from this area for many years because the whole bay can no longer by dived in as the water is not fit for diving. Swimming or boating as the sewage from Kingston is released directly into the bay! Artifacts from Port Royal are now considered very rare& are seldom seen any more at antique shows! PORT ROYAL, 1692 This is genuine pirate treasure; a 6 pounder cannonball that was found in the pirate stronghold of Port Royal, Jamaica& dates back to 1692 or before.
