There are very importand conditions that the sliced cross section be smooth and straight. those conditions cannot be met by other knives. Yanabi-ba-hocho blades like this long thin one are specially designed to satisfy these conditions: Long and narrow for smooth even thin cuts of sashimi Single ground: A yanagi-ba blade is angled only from one side. With the other ... moreside of the blade being flat. This allows control in the blade angle for delicate cutting and allows for ease of sharpening. Cutting direction: While almost all western knives are used to push and cut. Almost all Japanese knives are used pull and cut instead. 32 Sahara Neolithic relics - tools, celt, beads, and 1 paleolithic tool.
This group of 32 Sahara Neolithic relics is composed of diverse types of relics. Which were discovered on ancient habitation sites deep in the western Sahara desert, mostly in the vicinity of northern Muaratania/Mali but also includes two trianglar Eiffel Tower points from Algeria. This group consist of several types and subtypes of projectile points from varying periods of the Neolithic era. Including ovate, stemmed, triangular, and unifacial tool forms. In all there are 18 stone projectile points and tools, 10 hard-stone quartz disc beads, one pottery bead(western Mauratania) one hardstone celt, and a cylindrical labret of quartz thought to be used in body piercing or lips or ears. Not perfect, it probably is not comple at the squared off end. There are two unifacil blades seen at the bottom. They are from the late Mesolithic era or early ... moreNeolithic Morocco. Dating to approximately 7,000 years Before Present. At the upper right you will see an Auterian tool. This is the earliet known type of stone tool with a stem for hafting. Probably to serve as a knife/scrapper. It is classic form with a tipped which is worked around for scrapping(not broken) This relic is a good 30,000 years old, possibly much older. This is one of the more diverse offering of ancient Sahara relics you will find. The shortest point is a biege triangle of 7/8th inch(21 mm) long.
