Here's a robot I built a while back as a prototype. All the plates are cnc cut out of 6061 aluminum. The cover panels are 5052H aluminum. The cut out you notice in the front is for your CCD camera. I originally operated the robot with a Sabertooth drive and Boe-Bot BS2 controller. Both have been removed and are not included. Tracks. Sprockets and bearings are all by Lynxmotion. Drive motors are Superdroids IG42 planetary drive and are way overkill for the size of the robot. When I tell you it has plenty of power, it's an understatement! The motors are rated at 24vdc but I used an 11.1 Lipo and got great results. You will receive the basic chassis pictured with no electronics except the motors. Track drive robot with 15 rpm gear motors. L298 Motor controller and the Parallax USB version homework board. I used Lynxmotion 2" tracks along with their sprockets and idlers. Track side plates are cnc cut T6061 aluminum. The main body is a Hammond diecast project box that works well in this application. There's plenty of room inside for additional sensors and electronics. The robot was tested with a Lipo 11.1v 1800mah battery. The Homework board also requires a 9v battery. You'll need to supply your own batteries as none will be shipped with the robot. I built this robot using these motors: You can easily change out the motor for a different ratio or voltage as long as you stick with the 37mm gear motors. The shafts are 6mm.
