Vintage 1970's Adel Rootstein Sara Kapp Female Mannequin
This is a vintage 1970's era female mannequin manufactured by Adel Rootstein. This mannequin was sculpted after 1970's model Sara Kapp for the"Classic and Symbol" collection. First introduced around 1973. She has a very distinctive profile and is the 1970's version of Violetta Sanchez, another Rootstein face with a distinctive nose. During the 1980's, Sara Kapp was the face for Princess Marcella Borghese cosmetics because her face was very versatile since she looked great in both dramatic and minimal make-up. The finish on this mannequin is not the original Rootstein finish because the mannequin is almost 40 years old however she is still in very good condition with no cracks or chips. There is some normal wear of the paint on the connection joints but overall. She looks great. The body type on Sara is a bit more ... moreboyish, which was very much the look of the early 1970's and her measurements are 32" bust, 26" waist and 35" hips, she is 71" tall, wears a size 7 shoe with 4" heels and her ears are pierced so any kind of earring can be used. A Rootstein glass base and butt rod is included with the mannequin but the wigs, clothing and accessories shown in the photos will not be sold with the mannequin. VINTAGE DEPARTMENT STORE LADY MANNEQUIN HEAD WITH HAT BY PHYLLIS
Up for auction is this nice vintage store mannequin head with hat in good overall condition. The head measures 14" wide and 15" high. It is made of some type of plaster. There are several paint nicks on the head and a few older dark brown spots from earlier touch ups. Most of the spots are covered when hat is placed on it. There are scrapes on her chin that could be easily touched up. The only mark on the head is FH 78 imprinted on one side. The skin coloration is lighter is some places. Possibly due to exposure in a window. I was told this is from a Halle's store but I have no way of verifying it. The hat is in good shape with no visible damage. It should be cleaned. Antique Vintage Old female Dress Form Display Mannequin torso Adjustable
Here is an old display torso adjustable from about 3" to 4" You could make it taller by getting a longer pole if you wanted. The torso is covered in black muslin that looks like it has some age to it(stains. Sun faded in areas, some minor wear here and there) The base platter appears to be a dense particle board and the spindle appears to be painted oak judging from the grain pattern. This would be great for displaying clothing, jewlrey, etc.

Jewelry, bathing suit tops, some kinds of blouses would work. She has a nicely done"skin" color, instead of the usual stark white. I believe these were originally made to display bras in department stores. The styro is great because it's so easy to move around, also good as a clothes or jewelry model because you can use pins to hold your item in place. Ok, now the funny part- someone has used this mannequin for their project and they painted red rings around one part of the bust. Blonde Venus" t his exquisite countertop mannequin stands 26" tall and was originally displayed at Marshall Field& Co. in their flagship department store on State Street in Chicago. Illinois. P laying on the eroticization of the girdle in the movie starring Deitrich. This figure modeled lingerie- and in particular she modeled the women's girdle. Fondly referred to as"Venus" Taken from the word displayed on the lower part of the statue, her body is in great condition and is made of plaster with dusty rose colored cloth used for the actual girdle. But it is covered in a canvas type cloth. The bottom is plastic and has a hole where a mount could be inserted. The front part of the neck is marked 21. I assume this is the head/hat size. The bottom of the plastic is marked PAT PEND. These were mostly used to display wigs, but I have used them to display hats. Really hate to part with them, but can't keep things in the shop forever: This stands about 10" tall and weighs 2lbs 2oz. There are some stains, including a pen mark, on the golden yellow canvas, but overall it's in pretty good condition. The flash in my camera makes the color look brighter in some pics. The head is made and hand painted by the artist Marge Crunkleton and signed on the bottom. The mannequin is named“Mary” The mannequin is in excellent condition with only a minor dark paint spot on her left shoulder and top of head. The various cracks around her face and neck are from the original mold and not material defects. This mannequin was used in my antique shop to display hats and furs. Up for auction from a recent estate sale is a female mannequin head with(plugged" hair. As pictured. The very bottom piece inside bottom of neck, is wood. What's unique to me is that it looks like all the hair was plugged into tiny small holes, almost like it was sewn in. The head stands 12" in heightand is about 7 1/2" wide(side profile thru middle area) There appears to be a manufactuer's logo type mark on the back of the neck. The item is in nice shape, no flaws. My beautiful Stockman mannequin, came to me with a damaged cover but rather than completely recover her(and lose the wonderful detail& Stockman logo) I decided to embellish her with a number of antique, cotton doilies which have been hand sewn on. They match the colour of her cloth perfectly and cover up some of the damage, whilst adding some wonderful texture to her. The papier mache body is completely sound and intact. The stand is a beautiful warm hazel colour which has had some dreaded woodworm damage but these have been treated to be on the safe side. I believe she dates from around the the 1930s. VINTAGE& OLD! GRANDMA'S 1/2(HALF) SCALE DRESS ~ SEWING FORM DISPLAY UPPER TORSO MANNEQUIN with WALNUT TOP EXCELLENT PRE-OWNED CONDITION for it's AGE Here is a vintage and old. Grandma's, one-half(1/2) scale, dress or sewing form that could also be used as a display of an upper torso mannequin. This dress form or mannequin has a wood, removable top that I believe is walnut as the underneath is not painted as is the top. The top portion of the removeable wood is painted with what looks to be black lacquer, as this is the type of paint that was used years ago. The bust on this mannequin measures approximately 33" in diameter. As you will view in the photos provided, the bottom has a metal piece where it could be set on a stand with a pole. The approximate overall dimensions of this vintage dress form is approximately 13-1/2" ... morewide at the bottom from left to right and approximately 21-1/2" tall. The form itself has a fabric exterior and I do want to mention that there is one small hole in the fabric on the back that is nothing serious, as it could easily be whipped shut. I will leave this up to the buyer. This sewing form or mannequin is very clean for it's age, as grandma took really good care of it. Vintage Art Deco Dept Store Mannequin RARE! Fiberglass Form Antique Full Size NR
This is a beautiful antique that was retired from service about 1950 from Belk in Raleigh. It is a two piece mannequin. Bust and base, that is 63" tall over all. It is all hand laid fiberglass. Hollow inside. It is a great piece that gets many comments. You'll be hard pressed to find another, and exhaustive research has given me nothing as to its origins. I think it is the most unique and beautiful I've ever seen. With its ornately sculpted lower. It has been nicknamed"Mermannequin" because of its mermaid-like appearance. Condition: this piece has lived a full life. And its patina shows that. It has some staining and the outer coat is chipping in a few spots. the right arm point is great. But the left mount broke off at some point in its life. there is a 2" chip in one of the legs-the base mount is great. But the ... morebust side has also come off. The hole snugs in the base well, and this sans not been an issue while it has been on display. This whole mannequin could be easily restored by the right person and put back into service. Actually it does catch a few threads at the end. lady told us it was stripped but does tighten up. There are some numbers or markings on bottom of base but hard to make out. Measures approx. 37 1/2" Tall and extends to 53" plus some, starts to get a little wobbly at that height. Torso measures approx. 24" T x 18" W x 9" thick. Vintage head form can be used for wig or hat making. The canvas head is a size 22 as shown by the stamp on the bottom. The canvas shows that this piece definitely has a history. There are marks from perhaps a hat maker's pen and some general stains from use. The bottom is celluloid or bakelite and has some cracks(see photo) but the entire head is VERY solid and structurally very sound. Just goes to show the workmanship of yesteryear that we don't often see in modern products. The head is almost 10" tall and about 7" at its widest.
