RARE Antique 1800's SKIRT Dress Form Old Victorian Sewing Metal Mannequin OOAK
Very rare antique late 1800's. Early 1900's Adjustable skirt form w/ original tape measures ~! to start a new paragraph use- Please feel free to make an offer.I'd like it gone! This auction is for a very rare. Harder to find ladies adjustable wire skirt form with it's original tape measures, circa late 1800's to around 1900. I wonderful working order. Solid oak base with oak center pole. Adjustable wire frame is locked in with cast rings with screws to tighten. Although the tapes are not in the best condition, they are all original to this early mannequin sewing form. Inch markings can be found on both tapes. Form flares are bottom hemline. This is perfect for vintage clothing shows as it collapses nicely and base can easily be removed from the form. The only thing to note is that one little wire hook needs to be re threaded ... morethrough the wire band.see cloeup photo below. An easy fix.this is NOT broken! I'm hoping there's somebody out there who is knowledgeable& willing to repair this lovely 1942's mannequin doll. I've had her for years. Displayed in a glass cabinet. One day, I looked& to my horror, there was a black mark around her neck. When I picked her up, her head fell off! I have no idea how this could have happened. My husband glued her head back on, but the separation still shows. My conscience(and heart! just wouldn't let me throw her away, so I am offering her- for only the cost of the accompanying patterns and shipping costs. My starting cost is for what I would hope to sell the patterns& booklet. This book is in excellent conditon- bottom right lower side of cover slightly curled(see photo) Also included is a booklet containing 4 different patterns for 12" Maniken Fashion Dolls by The Sewing Bee. Complete. Mint, never cut. The doll itself is in basically good condition(except for her neck) Considering she's over 70 years old! There are some very minor rubs(back of shoes, back of elbows) There's a very small spot on the inside of one arm that looks as if the paint has flaked off. Her wooden stand is included, is painted blue, and has a small chip on one side. Both arms are removable for easy dressing. Vintage"RITE" Dress Form N-110- Size 0 10 Section Adjustable Bust: 30" to 40" Waist: 21" to 31" Hips: 31" to 41" Height is adjustable as well. Base has 5 horizontal legs that can be unscrewed for storage. Dress form is made of a heavy cardboard type material and covered in a light gray. Soft fabric. This has seen a lot of years. And it is not perfect, but still quite useable. It has been cleaned up because it was a bit dirty and musty. There are stains. She is in good condition and has markings on her back that I am unable to read but photographed just the same. These sewing mannequin dolls are very old and collectible. They were used to create doll clothing and to make alterations to existing doll clothing. It could still be used for this purpose if one wanted. This dress form was made by Rite and has 16 adjustable sections. It is a size 1. Its adjustment ranges per the label are: Bust-32 to 42 inches. Waist-22 ½ to 32 inches. Hips-33 to 43 inches. It has a cast iron base with an adjustable height from 62 ½ inches high when adjusted all the way up and down to 35 inches high when lowered all the way down. The height measurements are to the knob on top. The knob on top is for the upper sections and the wing nuts on the inside are for the lower sections. It is used and in good condition but has some stains and signs of use as pictured. This is perfect for your sewing projects or for modeling your dresses. Vintage Fashion Model Composition Doll-Sewing Mannequin 13" and no marks. Golden brown molded hair and blue eyes. She is a charming example of a mannequin doll. There are some paint loss in areas such as top of hands. Upper arms, one side of back and shoes. No peeling of compo. One arm has a chip out of socket plug. So arm does not securely stay in. I would think an easy fix to build it back up. Included is a reproduction of Simplicy pattern-4496. She is wearing outfit using the pattern. White cotton blouse. Vintage style print in purple. Needs to be hand sewn or hook and eye added to side to close it up. Maybe a bit snug. Probably should have been cut a tad bigger.
