The lid is metal and the drawer is heavy duty plastic. I believe that it was probably a drawer for a resister. The lock does not work. But all the spring locks inside work fine. PRIMITIVE INDIANA CASH DRAWER #4981
Pictured is an old Indiana Cash Drawer. It is made of oak and looks like it has been stained dark. The Indiana company metal plate also looks like they stained over it. But it is still very easy to read. The front of the top of the drawer is in kinda rough condition(shown on picture) The little orange tabs you see are just small stickers telling how to open the drawer. To open it you have to pull the nail out and reinsert it on an angle and then the drawer pops open. This is a very cool antique and would make some collector very happy to have it. You can see on the top where the adding machines was screwed to the top. It measures 20.5 x 14.5 x 5.
