This is a miniature bride's basket made in the Tavern pattern. Sometimes called by the romantic, symbolic name, 83" This pattern was made about 1914. This particular piece is decorated in a conventional wheel-cut floral pattern. It is not clear that the cutting was done by Duncan and Miller. Although this company did a great deal of this type of work, patterns were also often applied by third party decorators and I can find nothing to settle the issue in this case. Set of 2 USMC Brew Beer Stein TUN TAVERN Birthday Ball Pint Mug Marine Corps
Pair of two ceramic beer steins from different years of the United States Marine Corps Birthday Ball. One mug is from 1996. The 221st Birthday Ball and the other is from 1998 which was the 223rd Birthday Ball. Other than the dates the mugs have the same black graphics on cream colored pottery. The front of the mugs have a drawing of the old brick tavern building with the words"A CORPS OF MARINES. TUN TAVERN, WHERE IT ALL BEGAN, MARINE CORPS AIR STATION, BEAUFORT, SOUTH CAROLINA" The bottoms of the mugs say they're hand decorated and the 1996 mug says'1 of 2400' the 1998 mug says'1 of 3000' They hold over a pint, 20 ounces if you fill them almost to the top. 5" tall and 5 1/2" across at the handle, each one weighs 1 1/4 pounds. Both steins are in very good condition. There are light stains on the unglazed ... morepart of the bottom rim and one mug has crazing(see the last two photos) There are no nicks. Victorian Tavern Rummer Ale glass. It measures 10 cm high and 6 cm across. It has a flat bottom and there is a bubble in the glass. It is a super little tavern glass probably dating to around 1850. The base measures 24 1/4 inches wide x 20 1/4 inches deep x 13 3/4 inches high. The cushion is not original to the footstool/ottoman. It is upholstered in a golden chenille fabric. With the cushion.
