Black River Falls Wisconsin Hank's Tavern GF 5c IT scalloped 25mm brass 1956-65
Up for bid is a Black River Falls. Wisconsin tavern token from Hank's Tavern. The reverses says Good For 5c In Trade. The token is octagon brass and 25mm in diameter. I rate it fine as it has wear on both sides. Black River Falls is not a difficult town to obtain but it is interesting as it is one of few three word name towns and further more it is self identifing as it is located at the falls on the Black River. As an exercise look to see how many three word name towns you can find in any state. When the first white settlers came up by boat they could only go up as far as the falls. The town is located on interstate 94 about equidistant from Madison Wisconsin and Minneapolis, Minnesota. This is an example of what I consider to be the classic brass tavern era token. Catalog# 15 town name on three separate lines.

It holds approximately one quart. We do not know the age of the decanter. It measures: 8 inches tall. This ring is from an estate sale and reads Iwo Jima on one side and Tun Tavern on the other. The stone is a purple amethyst; I could not get good true color in my photos. I was TOLD it was 1945 and I have seen similar ones listed as such. It has normal wear but overall good vintage condition. Comes to you in nice gray velvet snap shut ring box. It is signed YLTM Jostens. Makers of quality rings including Superbowl ones! From my research YLTM stands for yellow lustrium. Which makes sense, LUSTRIUM= According to the website Metal Detecting Forum. Lustrium is a mixture of nickel and chromium. It comes in two varieties, much like gold: yellow and white. According to website, the ring's look is very similar to that of white gold or silver. Its benefit is that it does not tarnish, while holding the luster and brilliance of more expensive metals.

Hi again. this cream pitcher and covered sugar bowl are dark and unusual. the sugar shows 2 1700s men in a tavern. One is playing a mandolin. the scene on the cream pitcher shows 2 men having a toast in ale. the pieces are perfect and they were never used. there is a tiny stress line just above the handle of the creamer. i have been doing this now for decades. and i am positive this is as a result of the firing process. i know it cane ... moreout of the over this way. but i want you to know that i saw it and am not trying to hide anything. the pitcher measures. 3 1/4 inches tall. and it sits on 4 feet. the sugar is. 4 inches tall with the lid in place. it also has 4 feet. and both items are marked in the old blue ink. the lid has no mark. but it fits perfectly and the dark color is a match. thank you for taking the time to search out this listing. my family appreciates how hard it is becoming to find anything on this site that is not new& fresh off the boat from china.
