Vintage Vitamix 1966 Model 517 Chrome Blender with original recipe book. Blender is in good working condition. I tested it with a couple of large ice cubes and a little water and it worked as well as my modern Oster. A real testament to the craftsmanship of these appliances. Cosmetically beautiful- chrome is bright- no dents other than a tiny indentation on side rim of lid And I honestly think someone did it on purpose to make the lid fit more tightly. Some very slight discoloration to chrome here and there if you really look. ALL IN ALL- AMAZING FOR A 48 YEAR OLD APPLIANCE!

This is a used vita-mix in-counter blender. I bought it second hand. It works very well as you can see in the pictures. It will turn ice into powder. There are a few scratches and a crack in the sound dampener next to the handle. This has no effect on the functionality of the dampener. The only buttons that work are#1 and#3. It was made to sit inside a small hole in a counter top for a smoothie shop/ bar or some other comertial business. You can still do this if you want. But the previous owner made a wooden stand for the blender to sit in. I painted it black to match our other appliences. Thanks for looking.

This is an excellent blender for juicing because it does not discard the pulp and rind of fruits like lower priced blenders do-instead it liquefies them so you retain all of your fruits’ and vegetables’ healthful benefits. The VitaMix also grind grains for flour. Mix soups and on and on! Very easy to use and clean up is easy too. These machines are real work horses. We have had this machine for years and it has received a decent amount of use with absolutely no problems. We recently bit the bullet and upgraded to a new model because the newer models are much gentler on our old ears. The only thing to mention is the machine has normal signs of surface wear for its age. And the black rubber ... moreband which is located about 2” from the bottom of the canister has slackened slightly over time, so when I would wipe the unit down after use it would slip down a tiny bit and I would have to move it back into place; however, there is no leakage or any other issues with this machine. All of the original labels are still intact. Comes with the wooden tamper tool. The pieces of original paperwork I managed to save over the years, and an 18-page Vita-Mix recipe book which includes recipes for breads, soups, sauces, yogurt, ice creams” salads, grinding grains, and more. Item is working but needs repair. Not sure what all the problem is but it looks like its just the spot where my finger is pointing that needs to be worked on or replaced. Item still turns on rips, and roars as its suppose to but it looks as if the blade spot is loose? So when you turn it on it starts spinning but I believe that some rubber is rubbing or something is loose thats causing friction to make a small bust of smoke when you switch from low to high, that kicks it into high drive.
