Vintage White Mountain Ice Cream Maker Freezer Churn 6 Qt Hand Crank Wood Bucket
Marvelous old wooden hand crank. White Mountain 6 qt. ice cream freezer. It is big and heavy and would be a fun, yummy summer activity. I found an instruction booklet put out by the Rival Co. online which I copied and will include as it encompasses all you will need to know about this old version plus a few recipes. The bucket is 15" tall with a diameter of 12" The crank mechanism is a very heavy metal. Probably cast iron, there is a wire bail and wooden handles on both the crank and bail. I think the canister and internal workings are probably stainless steel. As to condition. The canister and its interior parts look barely used and only need some cleaning up. The wooden barrel has a lot of scratching, bumps, bruises, and weathering consistent with its age which I estimate to be circa mid-1950s. Other metal pieces, especially the ... moremetal bands around the barrel display surface rust. I HAVE NOT tried this out to see if it actually works so this will have to be a leap of faith on your part. It is missing its paper label. It is an estate find and is being sold as is. This is a 2 Door. Glass Door Display Freezer. 50 cu ft. uses new type refrigerant R404. Doesn't look to have been used much at all. It has one of those compressors built like a diesel engine. I believe it is a Copeland discus compressor, not sure of size, but 2hp or less I guess. This has a leak in the evaporator and HVAC person could not repair the leak and Baskin Robins bought new one. This can be repaired for the evaporator leak in a shop but not on a service call in a small area where it was located. On the back side there is a water drain tube and connector broke when I loaded it, it is possible to glue it. The size is 79.5 high x 52" wide and front to back counting door handles is about 37" Not sure on the weight but guess it 500lbs. There is no place around to buy a new one like this for less than 4K. VINTAGE WHITE MOUNTAIN FREEZER ICE CREAM MAKER 4XG Triple Motion 1923 USA
Up for auction is a four quart Antique White Mountain triple motion ice cream freezer with a 1923 patent date. The freezer has flaws as follows: 1) Most of the paint is worn off the outside of the bucket. 2) Although I wiped out the inside of the bucket. It needs a more thorough cleaning. 3) Two of the three wire bands which hold the bucket together are missing. The one still intact has some rust. Because of the missing bands. The bucket slats are slightly loose, and although it still works in this shape, one would probably want to put some new wire in place. Very easily done. Use pliers to twist the wire ends together and tighten them. 4) Bucket is missing the wire bale handle. 5) There is a small chunk of wood lose on the top edge of the bucket where the crank unit sits. Its needs to be glued back in place. 6) The rounded nub which sits ... moreon the center inside bottom of the bucket and holds the mixing container centered in the bucket has come loose. And is rusty. If I were repairing this, I would knock off the surface rust with a wire brush, and reattach it with gorilla glue. 7) There is rust on all of the metal hardware attached to the bucket. The mixing compartment and blades are clean. There is some very light oxidation located on the bottom of the outside of the mixing compartment. The crank mechanism works fine. This is a very good lightly used vintage canister for a Dolly Madison 4 quart model ICM-1 ice cream freezer. It has scuffs. Scratches and a few small dents. This one was made by Northern Electric Co. before Rival took over the company. From the looks of it, I think it was probably used only one time. It is rust free on both the inside and outside. It's the only one I have ever seen that was not rusty. It also fits the Dolly Madison by Rival model 8400 ice cream maker. The picture shows the actual item you are bidding on.
