Has a metal bale with wooden handle. Has a 4 quart capacity drum without rust inside and a nice fitting lid. The dasher is in excellent condition. The motor is loud but runs without hesitation when plugged into appropriate outlet. Rust is present on the metal plate(inside the floor of the barrel) that holds the drum in place. There is a bit of rust visible on the outside of the motor where some of the yellow paint has chipped off. I have not made ice cream with this machine but it works well in a dry run when tested.
