Baked on food, or carbon buildup left on it. It is ready to join your cooking staff the day it is received or be used as a display. It sits flat on a hard surface without any wobble and there is no bow to the top cooking surface. It is 9 3/8” across the cooking surface and stands 5/8” high. With the handle it is about 13 ½” long. The back of the griddle is marked: Cast Iron Griddle 8 The Griswold MFG. Co. Griswold logo– 3 ¼” in diameter Erie PA. U.S.A. 608 There is an 8 at the base of the handle on the front. The inside cooking surface is glass smooth to the feel with no holes or pitting. There is one utensil stab mark near the outer edge opposite the handle. There ... moreare no cracks. Breaks, rust, or repairs to the piece. There are the usual discoloration and utensil marks from years of use and storage. I clean all of my cast iron back to the original gun metal gray casting or as close as I can. This way it has no residue or contaminants from previous use or storage. The new owner can use with confidence in their safety. I only season with three coats of solid vegetable shortening in the oven for about ten hours. This is why my cast iron does not always appear black. You could perhaps say it has been restored as close as possible to its original condition. There is a possibility that some of what I refer to as shallow pin point pitting is actually original to the casting. I do no oil my cast iron so they show better or look shiny for the pictures. Large Logo Griswold #9 Cast Iron Griddle w/ Handle 609 Excellent!
This old Griswold#9 Cast Iron Griddle is in excellent condition! It has the beautiful large logo. The markings are crisp. There are no cracks or chips. There is no wobble. The cooking surface is extremely smooth. Nearly flawless, except there is some light staining. I suspect the staining will become less apparent(though it's not bad like it is) as you build seasoning. The photos make it look a LOT more prominent than it actually is in person. There is no pitting! The part number is 609. It measures 11" in diameter overall. I cleaned it and then seasoned it in the oven with Crisco at 200 degrees for an hour. It's ready to use and will only get better with time. You can't find Griswold quality or variety today in new cast iron. If you're not happy with it I'll refund your money less shipping costs. There is a little scratch on the edge of one handle if you look for it closely, otherwise everything looks as good as it did 50+ years ago. Cecilware BG24 24" Gas Griddle LP 5/8" Thick Concession
I have a Cecilware model B6-24" 32k BTU propane flat griddle removed from my concession trailer. We purchased the trailer in 2010 and removed the griddle immediately as we weren't going to use it. The person we purchased from was original owner(2008) and he told us they had never used it. It came installed on the Cart Concepts trailer 7212. Because of the cart manufacturer installation. There are no removeable legs so the griddle will sit flat, although you may be able to purchase them from the Cecilware manufacturer. We did test this when we first made the purchase and everything worked.it has been safely stored since.
