The"Store" as it was known by everyone, served the Litchville, Hastings and surrounding farm communities for decades. While the store went out of business in the early 1960s, the building continued to serve as home to the family that had occupied it for at least 3 generations, and much of the front of the store(the lunch counter, retail shelves, and this magnificent old refrigerator) was left intact and served to make the Osterberg's living room one of the most interesting I've ever been privileged to visit! When I first visited the home in the late 1970s. The first thing that grabbed my attention was this incredible refrigerator.
