Very attractive in blue and white with a gold rim. Central portion of inner band is brown flanked by two gold rings. Cup measures 1 7/8" across at the base and stands 2 1/2" high. A very nice Booths dinner plate. 10" diameter, in the Mayfair pattern. Very hard to find now, probably from the 40's/50's or maybe even older. Backstamp has Booths silicon china, Mayfair. A lot of crazing on the back, front is very good, this is age related only, no signs of wear. Would display really well, strong colours and gilding good.

Antique, now "shabby chic", Booths of England "Hawthorne " plate.
Add to your collection of"shabby chic" dishes! This is one great pattern& relatively uncommon. Up for auction is a preowned 9" plate made by Booths of England& the pattern is"Hawthorne" The plate has definitely seen better days but the pattern is just lovely. I have been using it as an"appetizer" plate to go with my Grandmother's flow blue& my Ironstone dishes. In photo 1. The glare is really from my flash; it's not on the plate. Photo 2 shows the marks but it also shows a chip at"4'oclock. Photo 3 shows a chip on the front. It comes from my smoke free home. Again.
