Older Pole Climbers Belt and Lanyard Mine Safety Appliance
Here's a older pole climber's belt and lanyard. Belt is 48" long and lanyard is 5 1/2 feet long with snaps on each end. Lanyard is adjustable in lenght. Belt has a brass name plate that say's Mine safety Appliances. PGH,Pa. made in USA serial no. 001455 date 8/68. Belt has two rings one on each side. From an estate. Mixed lot of pole climbing gear as shown. Gaffs are MSA BROOKS CLIMBER adjustable from MINE SAFETY APPLIANCE. Spikes are 1-1/8" long. Belt with the extra pouch has no maker's mark that I find. The back top rivet is in need of replacement. Belt is +/ 40" long x 4-7/8" wide. 2nd belt has the BELL SYSTEM brass tag and is +/ 43-44" long x 3" wide. This belt is a heavily woven. Stiff canvas. All items are in used condition. It has a black texture finish with gold printing[ some of the printing is worn. Kit has a rubber gasket seal for the lid and it is in tack. there are two flip out hangers on the backside. Except of minor finish wear on some edges[ and the printing mentioned above] all is in good condition. Box is roughly 8" x 5" 2 1/2" and weighs 2lb.0.4oz. MINE SAFETY APPLIANCE HARD HAT Light Holder Vintage
Used Vintage Hard Hat from MSA. I wore one of these in the early 60s. This one is earlier. Mine had a nylon headband fastened with spring steel clips. This one is attached with cord. This looks as if it could have come from Minnesota's Iron Range. Carbide lamp would have been installed on the front. From the dirt I cleaned off and the wear. The owner was right handed and stored his hat upside down in his locker or bin. Employee( Number is scratched on the lamp fixture near the MSA mark. Two small dings on the edge not visible in the photos. Light spray paint is present. Still, a very clean example for its age.

I know this man worked in the ship building yards This is a MSA Skullgard Yellow Fiberglas Mine Safety Hat with Front Brim It is excellent inside and has typical scuffs on outside The label is attached inside and MSA is in the hat itself on the brim I noticed an odor from the inside that almost smells like an electric short smell- didn't try to clean it except to rinse off the dust.
