This fantastic old milk glass hand soap dispenser has the manufacture's name embossed right on it: MULTI PRODUCTS MILWAUKEE. There is a word in cursive lettering before the MULTI, but I cannot make it out. This dispenser is about 6" tall and stands out from wall about 5" when mounted as intended.This item is in great shape and I expect it is in working condition, the top is threaded and screws off for filling, and like the base is a chromed brass or some type of metal. Antique TE Davis Steel Lined Cafeteria Milk & Cold Beverage Dispenser Circa 1920
You're bidding on an interesting dispenser- Branded on the front with"T.E. Davis- Boston. Mass" on the front. It's a large- 18 1/2" tall and 9" diameter- and heavy- 13 lbs. steel lined canister with brass feet and a brass plumbing-grade spigot on the front. I had much trouble figuring out exactly what this thing was, until I found one reference to the manufacturer online, in a 1920 hotel and hospitality catalog, as a manufacturer of milk dispensers. It has a round cylindrical insert, which in that context makes sense as an ice chamber for the coolant, as this thing is slightly ahead of the dawn of electricity and freon for this type of device. It would, I'm sure, make for a good dispensing cooler beyond milk for all varieties of cold beverage, and would probably work just as well keeping hot things hot, which ... moreis probably why the insert is removable. Although I have not really cleaned this item up, it appears to be in very good condition with no rust or pitting, just some mild soil and tarnish on the brass. Would fit in well as a decorative object in an a pre-1920 soda fountain, food service, hospitality or hospital type setting.
