Condition: Used Location: Bellflower, United States This is a glorious mid century modern display case that you might never see one like again! It likely came out of an 1950's diner. Old candy store ... moreor bakery. Could have been used to display small items such as candy, jewlery, baked goods, linens or other smaller valuable items. This show case is in nice condition and is ready for use in you antique booth, store or home. It could be used to store and display anything you can imagine, this cabinet is more versatile than your average show case. This one was designed for counter top use but it could be displayed on a mantel, coffee table or anywhere a large curio cabinet could be displayed. The metal on this piece appears to be aluminum which has all the character of aged metal with distinctive little scrapes and scratches that truly add character to this already amazing piece! The glass is old, very thick and flawless with no chips, cracks or any noticed damage except the minor observations mentioned below. It has two fixed glass shelves and sliding rear smoked glass doors. Included is a cut to size piece of microfiber for the bottom of the case which can be used or not. The teal colored sheet metal in the bottom of the case is very cool also! This is a very rare, sought after example of a hard to find 1950's display case! This display case can be used the way it is. However. There are a few insignificant issues the new owner may want to address. First, the edges of the the smoked glass rear doors are chipped along their edges. Pictured) This is to be expected given the age of this glass and that they have been open and closed probably thousands of times in their lifetime. You can hardly tell when the doors are closed. Secondly, there are a few areas(mostly in corners, ect) that could be tightened up with a little solder. We would like to stress that this piece is functional as is and we are very picky when we look over our items we auction. It has a cartouche in the front with this information and two lions holding a large pretzel over a bowl of grain. There are shafts of wheat on each side. The stein has a capacity of o,5L and has a very heavy and ornate steeple pewter lid. The lid has bunches of fruit and a torch steeple with a double dolphin thumblift and the strap is tight. There is a patch of manufacture browning on the top rim under the glaze. The stein including the lid stands 10 1/4" H. This Oreo Bakery House- Cookie Jar with Lid. Introduced in 2002 and 7 th in the Series. Produced for Houston Harvest Gift Products, LLC is in very good overall condition. The cookie jar has a very small chip on the Oreo cookie on the back– left corner of the jar(see Photo#5) and a very tiny chip on the red bow on the lid(see Photo#7) on the side opposite of the chimney. Outside of these 2 minor flaws, the cookie jar is in very good condition. This piece features a cookie jar in the form of a gingerbread style or candy cane house with a roof made of Oreo cookies. Without the lid(roof) the cookie jar base is approximately 8 inches long, 7 inches wide, and 4.75 inches tall. I have only seen a few of these sell in online auctions and my understanding is that the Dugan's Bakery version is a difficult find. The body of the truck is plastic and the under carriage is metal. There is some paint loss as pictured. In addition. The passenger window is missing the"glass" which is really some sort of plastic.that would be an easy fix. 1940's used bread loaf wrapper "HOLSUM BREAD" Alvin Eades Bakery, Evansville Ind
An old and used bread wrapper from Alvin Eades Bakery Evansville. Ind. It has colorful parrots and I guess it to be circa 1940's. I don't remember when I bought this(likely a swap meet in Los Angeles) but I wonder how it survived all these years after someone ate the bread. Don't they always get crumpled up and thrown in the garbage? It has 2 holes and edges have a lot of missing paper and are very much tattered. It measures about 21 by 17 inches but most of it is less because of all the paper loss. I suppose it could be matted and framed under glass. The 2 holes could be covered on the back with loose pieces from the edges to match in. It is very fragile and I put little pieces of tape on back to keep the splits and pieces together. Being waxed paper the tape doesn't hold well but does the job. Overall I think it is a good ... morelooking wrapper and may be a one of a kind. The main part with the graphics isn't too bad. I will put in updated pictures after I taped the pieces back together. NOTE: I have one more old used wrapper"HELMS OLYMPIC BREAD" listed now. This is a nice commercial 30qt Hobart D-300 Mixer. The motor sounds to run smooth as silk but the gear box appears to need some attention. The speed control easily switches between speeds 1& 3 but does not appear to affect the speed at all. And if you manually turn the mixer shaft a bit you can get it to slip into the speed 2 position but it still does not appear to affect the speed. Basically as it is. the mixer currently seems to work really well in One(1) Speed. And what speed that actually is. I'm not sure. Comes with Dough Hook and Whisk.
