Old candy store ... moreor bakery. Could have been used to display small items such as candy, jewlery, baked goods, linens or other smaller valuable items. This show case is in nice condition and is ready for use in you antique booth, store or home. It could be used to store and display anything you can imagine, this cabinet is more versatile than your average show case. This one was designed for counter top use but it could be displayed on a mantel, coffee table or anywhere a large curio cabinet could be displayed. The metal on this piece appears to be aluminum which has all the character of aged metal with distinctive little scrapes and scratches that truly add character to this already amazing piece! The glass is old, very thick and flawless with no chips, cracks or any noticed damage except the minor observations mentioned below. It has two fixed glass shelves and sliding rear smoked glass doors. Included is a cut to size piece of microfiber for the bottom of the case which can be used or not. The teal colored sheet metal in the bottom of the case is very cool also! This is a very rare, sought after example of a hard to find 1950's display case! This display case can be used the way it is. However. There are a few insignificant issues the new owner may want to address. First, the edges of the the smoked glass rear doors are chipped along their edges. Pictured) This is to be expected given the age of this glass and that they have been open and closed probably thousands of times in their lifetime. You can hardly tell when the doors are closed. Secondly, there are a few areas(mostly in corners, ect) that could be tightened up with a little solder. We would like to stress that this piece is functional as is and we are very picky when we look over our items we auction. It is in great condition- no chips or breakage. No box. Liberty Falls is a fictitious 1870's Colorado mining town which was conceived by Ralph Gadiel in 1993. He created wonderful miniature buildings for the town. Introducing only 8 to 10 new buildings each year. Mr Gadiel died in 1998 and Liberty Falls was taken over by Larry Stern. Vintage Uneeda Bakery Biscuit or Cracker Box Cover- Nabisco Description Vintage biscuit or cracker box cover from Uneeda Bakers(later Nabisco) Crackers were sold from large boxes made of cardboard or tin and these hinged covers were fastened over the opening. Made of metal with a glass front. It kept the crackers and biscuits covered, but allowed the shopper to see inside. About 10 1/2 inches square and 1 3/4 inches high. It probably dates to the 1920s. Marked"National Biscuit Company" on the front under the green Uneeda panel and also along the bottom edge. The hinge works as it should. In as-found condition, it should clean up to much better appearance if desired. Would look great hanging on the kitchen wall or could be used for a picture frame.
