Up for your consideration is a great set of vintage automotive service meters. Snap On MT-404 Ohmmeter Snap On MT-415B Tach-Dwell Meter KRA-415A Please see the pictures for the condition. These are in used condition and show signs of use and age. The ohmmeter seems to work. I did not test the Tach meter. I was told the Tach was replaced later in the early 1970's(repaired by snap on) Repair paperwork included. Manual for the tach meter but in poor shape. This set is sold as pictured. As found. PAIR OF VINTAGE PHAOSTRON VU METERS-UNUSED NOS
Here's a pair of vintage VU meters made by the Phaostron Instrument and Electronic Company of South Pasadena. California. The number F60 is stamped on the back. I assume that's the model number. The manufacturer's name isn't marked on the meters themselves, but they were found packed in the poly bags as seen in the pictures. The faces measure 3 1/2 inches wide and 3 1/4 inches high. And a 2 1/4 inch hole is required for mounting. They are about 2 inches deep front to back, including the terminals. These meters are in good working condition. With no sticking. They are AC meters, with a full-wave bridge rectifier inside. At 1 kHz, for a zero dB reading, one meter requires and input of 0.67 volts RMS, and the other requires 0.64 volts. They will need to be adapted and calibrated to your application so that the readings are meaningful. ... moreThe seem to be fairly heavily damped, so their response will be on the slow side. Cosmetically. They are very nice, there are a few minor nicks and scratches from storage, and one meter has a small spot in the lower right corner of the face. These were found in some boxes of tubes and other parts from the estate of a guy who owned a small independent jazz record label in the 1950s. Shipping to US addresses will be by USPS Priority mail. Up for auction is this Vintage 1950's Survey Meter/Geiger Counter by Atomic-Electronic Associates. Top is very dark green and has a headphone jack along with several knobs. Meter and counter(light) This is a piece of history. Information taken from the website of ORAU.org: Output: no speaker but jack for headphones. The neon light labeled"Count" flashes every time a pulse is registered. Detector: Six Victoreen 6306 thin-walled GM tubes with bismuth cathodes. Ranges: 0–20, 0-40, 0-200 and 0-400 counts per second Size: 5” x 7 1/2” x 6” Batteries: one 1 1/2 volt"A" battery, one 15 volt(Burgess K10) one 67.5 volt. The meter actually was measuring when this was first found and dials moved around so I believe the batteries had just enough juice to get it going. Not sure if batteries are dead now or what but I can't get ... morethe meter to register again. The bottom is missing from this meter and the GM tubes show. CONAR Model 500 Receiver Vintage 80/40/15 This is a little 4-tube wonder. I bought this little receiver about 3 years ago on Ebay. I also bought 2 of the matching transmitters but have used them very little. They have been sitting on a shelf most of the time. I'm trying to downsize my radio equipment and parts. This vintage Conar receiver is in excellent condition both cosmetic& operational. Check Photos) Starting price is $99 and shipping $15(I paid considerably more than this when I made the original purchase almost 3 years ago) This receiver has been modified by the previous owner to enhance performance using the mods found on the website. Here is a rundown on the modifications: Installed 4 pole 3 position mod, Installed BFO on in STBY mod. This mod allows the operator to adjust receiver sensitivity while monitoring the transmitter ... moreCW signal. BFO CW-STBY Switch mod. This mod turns ON the BFO in the CW and STBY positions. Installed Fullwave Bridge Rectifier(removes the single diode) and filtering. This is the most important mod because it removes the AC hum from the speaker. Receiver mod devised by K8TK- Replaced 6BE6 Converter with 6CS6 To improve 80 Meters a micro switch was added that is activated by the band switch when turned to the 80 meter band. Three series diodes lower the voltage on the converter tube. Also installed SO-239. Fuse and grounding AC Cord. Overall sensitivity 80M =.10 mv. 40M =.10 mv, 15M =.5 mv I won't try to cover all the details in this description as the website has the full info on the mods. Along with great detailed photographs, etc. Along with the Receiver. I will include all the paperwork on the mods that have been made on this receiver. As well as a full Operating& Maintenence copy.
