Up for auction is a Hickok 600A Micromho Mutual Conductance(Gm) Tube Tester. This tester is in working condition. But but is being sold“as is” since it has not been recently calibrated. The meter is in excellent condition; the knobs are tight and the chart roll bar works all the way to both ends. As can be seen from the panel face. There is little wear around the knobs which happens from frequent use. This unit operates using both a 83 tube rectifier and a 5Y3WGT tube rectifier. When these tubes were replaced. (Hickok) Military TV-2C Tube tester, Excellent operating cond. Cal checked NR
This is a nice Military TV-2c(the lastest version) in excellent operating condition. And good cosmetic condition. This is considered by some to be one of the best testers based on the Hickok Gm circuit. I've gone through the complete cal check(there are a few errors in the procedure) and added a few checks of my own. Everything checks out fine and I've tested a bunch of tubes(see the list iin the c/o sheet(last 3 pictures) This includes spare tubes(83 and 6X4) The screen supply rectifier's(6X4) heater is on a winding of the plate/ screen transformer. This causes screen voltage drift as a result of changing the plate fine adjust. This issue is nicely resolved by changing the screen rectifier to diodes, I made a 7 pin plug-in adapter for this. Every switch, pot and meter operate fine. The case has the usual dents and scrapes and ... moreif you're fussy it could use a paint job. The interior and front panel. Including the knobs and meters, are in excellent condition. The roll chart in the lid works very smoothly with no binding. The original manual is in good condition. There are a number of manuals(operating and test) manuals available on the BAMA site: Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 and Shipping will be by UPS for 56 lbs from 91784. The dimensional weight rules(UPS and USPS) for the box are what determines this shipping weight. This will require a 24 x 24 x 16in. box for safe shipping. Hickok 533 Vacuum Tube Tester W/ Crt Adapter
I do not know how well this tester is calibrated etc. However. It turns on, and the one 12ay7 tube I had to test it with that i knew was good showed as such.Needle moves when button is pushed. The reel with all the tube names and properties Is completely legible and rolls properly. Main and"Short" Fuses appear to work, was unable to figure out how to test the bias fuse, but it isnt obviously blown. The 9 pin socket I tested the 12ay7 appears to be worn, as the tube only lights up when not entirely seated on the socket and feels loose when put in. I am unable to test the other sockets. Cosmetically, In my opinion it appears to be in pretty great shape, but my vintage electronics knowledge base is layman at best. Very Early Western Electric Tube Tester KS-13588-L1 Hickok Working
Whether you collect vintage Western Electric Tube Audio Amplifiers or if you collect vintage tube testers. This is one that you don't see every day. This is likely the earliest Western Electric tube tester you will find. It isn't even branded with the Western Electric name, yet, but is has the KS(Kearney Specification) number on it that Western Electric assigned to all of its gear. It also includes a blueprint for the octal to 9 pin miniature adapter that is included and the blueprint is from the Bell Telephone Company of Pennsylvania(Western Electric was the purchasing agent for all Bell Telephone companies) This is made by Hickok as their model 531 tester and includes the Hickok setup book and a roll chart installed in the tester. The tester is in good to very good cosmetic condition. I have checked the two tubes, installed a new ... morefuse lamp, and tested the tester and it seems to be in great operating condition. Has a meter for micromhos as well as an AC line voltage meter. Hickok Model 540 Tube Tester
This was my Uncles.A USN radioman during WW II and I believe he kept it as a souvenir but I'm not sure; I do know it has sat in a closet for 45 years at least and it is time for it to go. I'm old enough to remember tubes but have no clue whether or not this still works, but plugged in it seems to power up. Inside the case is okay, the exterior of the case is rough but structurally sound. There is some paperwork that appears to be a partial manual that goes with the unit. This unit is as-is with no warranty, so check the photos, bid accordingly there are no refunds; I want it gone, hopefully someone knows more about this than I do and could use it.

Up for sale is my Hickok Cardmatic AN/USN 118B tube tester. In working condition. It is all original except for the 120 volt cord and cap. They were replaced. Included with the tester is: Tester Case. Manual, Calibration cards and Calibrator cell Shipping weight 50# Full deck of cards. Approximately 2484 cards covering 1556 tubes. Since I have never actually counted all 2484 cards.And there may be a couple missing, I am including 40 card blanks and the punch. Card holder case. The same dimensions as the tester case. I have the manual and punch in the case. Shipping weight 35# One non test card installed for shipping and one"tuck me in card" Rather worn, but original. This tester is shown in the pictures testing a 6146 and showing good quality in the meter. It is a functional tester and I have been using it regularly. Interior picture ... moreshows that it is clean with no corrosion. It would not hurt to recalibrate it. The full card deck seems to be complete. But I did not count them, so not guaranteed. 40 blanks, same as the original set, and the punch included. One supplier is selling the full decks for $500 and another $5 a card. So the weight for two is there, but the dimensions for one container only. This is a Hickok tube tester I bought off eBay as a backup. It is in good physical condition. All rotary switches are crisp for its age, all of the spring returns on the pushbuttons are good, and it the tube data roll sheet is readable and complete. I replaced the 5Y3 rectifier when I got it, and also purchased a solid state 83 rectifier but never used it, both it and the original 5Y3 tube are included. Now for the issues- This tester worked great for about 30 tubes, and then stopped indicating transconductance measurements on the meter during tests. The meter still works great(See the picture of the line test) but there is either a dirty connection, popped cap or resistor somewhere that wont allow it to read, and honestly, I just don't have time to troubleshoot and repair this guy, so in the chopping block this goes. These were his personal testers and were in working order when they moved here to Florida in the late 1950's and they have been sitting in her garage ever since then. RD Instruments 1575 tube tester manufactured by Hickok
Until about a week ago this was a working tube tester. After attempting to test a 6146. It ceased to function. It now displays"shorts" in all of the short positions. I checked the rectifiers on my other RD Instruments tube tester and they both checked good. Incidentally, I also checked that 6146 on my other RD Instruments tester and it checked good as well and is now being used in a Heathkit SB-101 and it is working fine. I don't know what happened, but I suspect a shorted cap so you may be getting a real bargain. Since I have the other RD tester and am not really into fixing test equipment, this one is up for sale. Everything worked fine prior to the"incident" All switches and pots and meters worked like they were suppose to work. This tube tester is a Hickok model 15560-L1 mutual conductance tester made for Western Electric for testing audio and other tubes made by Western Electric in addition to many other tubes. It is in good shape and test results compared favorably to those on another Hickok tester. All meters and switches work. The shorts indicating lights work as they should. The two rectifier tubes are good. A good quality reprint of the operating manual is included. Two or three capacitors were replaced and missing or damaged rubber feet were replaced. A small damaged part of the tube chart had to be cut out and the chart glued back together. This part was photocopied and is included. The roll chart works smoothly. The case has several scuffed and rough places. But it has done it’s job well and has protected the tester from any corrosion or other damage. The ... moretester does not show any signs of wear or scratches. It is very clean underneath. The set weighs about 30 lbs. Serial number is 769. Included are the operating manual. Tester is in good working order. Matches numbers of tubes I have bought. It was suppose to have been calibrated before I bought it and seems to work fine I never bought the few parts needed to Calabrate it. Lots of info on line how to do it your self. Hickok TV-7/U Military Tube Tester (FOR PARTS OR REPAIR)
Up for auction is TV-7/U tube tester. Included is a tube data booklet. And the pin straighteners. This unit is being sold as-is. For parts or repair. The outer case is from a base TV-7/U unit. While the tag says it is a TV-7D/U, this is not correct, as the tester does not have the"F" scale which is unique to TV-7D/U units. I attempted to test a 12AX7 with this unit, and found that the filament would not fire. The line adjustment does work. I did not troubleshot the problem any further than this. Inside. It looks pretty clean and original(at least to my eye, which is no expert on TV-7 testers) This is a good parts unit or fixer-upper for a qualified technician. You are bidding on a Hickok 600A tube tester. It is in working condition but needs to be calibrated. I purchased this earlier this year from a shuttered TV/Electronic repair shop. This tester was apart when I found it and was missing it's power cord. Case lid and screws and the 83 mercury rectifier tube. I replaced the power cord, some drippy wax capacitors and installed an 83 tube. I did not clean or calibrate- I have done MINIMAL work/trouble shooting on it- only repairing to the point of seeing if it was functional or not to sell. I have two other Hickok testers and this one reads lower than both of them. It could definitely use a good cleaning of all contacts and switches. Tube sockets are all tight, knobs are all there and original and meter works. Also includes updated, bound tube setup guide and operating instructions. Holds line ... morevoltage fine. As with all testers that use a mercury rectifier, it needs to warm up fully before testing any tubes. Case and tester show some wear around some of the switches, not bad, but enough to mention. Case is missing top cover. The price of these testers are ridiculous on eBay so I'm starting this one reasonably- with no reserve. Or buy it now and save the trouble. Summary: Used. This is a vintage TV 2 tube tester made by LaPointe Industries in good condition. Serial number is# 200. If you know this tube tester it can test many types of tubes with adjustments of many tube variables. I tested a few tubes with this recently after bringing it up slowly on a Variac. It seems to work as described in an online manual I found. But as with any vintage electronics it may need some refurbishment for good operation. This is also not calibrated. One small issue is a hairline crack in the glass on the signal meter. It's very difficult to see, but I wanted to disclose at least everything that I observed. Tube selection roll rotates freely and is in good condition. This is considered a portable tube tester of the dynamic mutual conductance type, but it does weigh almost 40 lbs. I just compared test resultes between my Amplitrex AT1000 and this tester on a 6SN7GT and the results were within 2% Tester is in good working condition. All the controls are smooth and do what they should. Tube chart will need some work as it is sometimes loose and then it gets tight. As you can see from the pictures. It is quite clean. The front panel looks VERY good. Cabinet does show wear typical of a 50 year old instrument. Notice the EL34. 6L6G, and 12AX7, tube under a test. Includes grid/ plate clip lead, and original manual with tube setting data. Serial number is 29200870. The case is in good condition with a few scuffmarks. Front panel looks very good and has only a few scratches. I cannot guarantee this unit is calibrated, and will probably need some calibration, due to age. All meters and switches work.
