Five pages. Some small tears and some water stain. Edward Payson Weston(1839–1929) was a notable. Who was largely responsible for the rise in popularity of the sport in the 1860s and 1870s. His life story has been told in the 2012 biography, A Man in a Hurry, described by U.S. sports writer Brian Phillips as"a spectacularly entertaining book. During childhood Weston moved frequently. And by his own account, spent some time travelling with the popular Hutchinson Family Singers. He first received attention as a notable pedestrian in 1861. Maine to Chicago. Illinois. Covering over 1200 miles(1900 km) in 26 days, winning a prize of $10,000. He received several death threats from gamblers who had bet against him, and was attacked once. This bronze promotional paperweight was given to funeral homes as advertising. Crane and Breed manufactured caskets and hearses in Cincinnati. Ohio from 1854-1973. This paperweight dates to C1890 and was a duplicate of their initial Egyptian-style sarcophagus model originally invented by Almond Dunbar Fisk in 1848. This was the first metal coffin to gain widespread acceptance in the U.S. It was designed to form-fit to the body and contained a glass window for viewing the face of the deceased.

Visit My eBay Store. Cincinnati Parking Control Systems Token ~ Token. Apparently cupro-nickel, for Cincinnati Parking Control Systems. Contrary to popular theory, these parking systems have nothing to do with the city of Cincinnati in Ohio. Rather, they are a product of Amano Cincinnati, Inc. a division of Amano Corporation of Japan. Although the token is undated, I'd guess it to be from before Amano acquired Cincinnati of Maine. This token has light wear(see my scans) It measures roughly 25 mm and appears to be interchangable with a quarter adding credence to the idea that the token is at least somewhat vintage. Similar tokens found on eBay for as much as $20 but all missidentified. Beautiful true skyline featuring the river front of Cincinnati. OH with a portrait of John Robelings famous SUSPENSION BRIDGE! This late Art Nouveau spoon is beautiful! A fantastic Cincinnati souvenir! Circa 1905-1914 A beautiful spoon in beautiful condition from my collection Auctions Cheerfully Combined! This solid sterling silver souvenir tea spoon measures 5-13/16" long and is in very condition with no monograms although there are some minor dents in the bowl. It is clearly marked with a STERLING mark but there is no manufacturer's mark. This spoon shows natural wear for a piece of silver over a hundred years old! Any circular dark or overly bright spots on the front or back of the bowl or spoon are from the camera or lighting and not on the spoon. This spoon is shown on page 91 of"American Skyline Souvenir Spoons" ... moreby Ouida Verizzo– the bible for anyone collecting skyline spoons. Like all true skylines(with three exceptions) the handle is viewed horizontally with the top of the skyline being the length of the handle with no rim or outline above it. NOT INCLUDED in auction) The handle of this stunning die-stamped bas-relief(embossed) is primarily a portrait of the suspension bridge over the Ohio River above a view of the Cincinnati river front. In the river beneath the bridge and skyline are the words SUSPENSION BRIDGE and CINCINNATI. OHIO. The detail is incredible! All the cables and wires of the bridge are clearly visible as are the boats on the river and the buildings of the skyline. There are faint remains of gold wash on the towers and cabling of the bridge. Stunning! The back of the handle is vertical and contains three bas-relief portraits. First is a tall stone building with CITY HALL arcing above it. Then is a portrait of the Tyler-Davidson Fountain with FOUNTAIN above it. Beneath that is a 3/4 view of a building with CHAMBER OF above it and COMMERCE beneath it. The bowl is plain and has seen some use.

Antique German Made Weight Box With Gram Weights from Cincinnati Chemical Co.
This incomplete box of gram weights has a label on the top of the box that reads The C_ Chemical Products Co. Scientific Material. Cincinnati, Ohio, Made in Germany. I cannot make out the word before Chemical but it starts with a C. The wooden box is 7 1/2" long and 3 1/2" wide and it contains six weights. There are indentations in the box for nine weights. The box is lined with faded purple velvet. There is a section in the front of the box that is empty and I do not know what went there. The two closures on the front of the box are intact and working.
