And it works flawlessly. The inlet and outlet ports 1/4" NPT female, and the drive air inlet is 1/2" NPT female. This gas booster is in absolutely PERFECT condition. It is quite possible that it has never been put into service. I do not know that for a fact. So it is listed as used. These units are extremely expensive from Teledyne Sprague. They are often used in aviation for filling oxygen tanks, or for filling nitrogen filled struts. The pressure ratio(output pressure to drive pressure) is 60 ... moreto 1. That means if you drive it with 100psi. You will get 6,000psi out. HOWEVER, the output pressure will never reach 6,000psi if you do not input about 500psi or more. You cannot get 6000psi from just your regular old air compressor. That is not what a booster does. It BOOSTS the pressure of a gas. The limit on the boost ratio is about 6 to 1. You must start off with no less than 1/6th of the pressure you want to wind up at. For example, to reach 3000psi, you need a minimum of 500psi as the input. For testing, I used 1000psi compressed air for the input, and 100psi for the drive air. The booster easily reached 6000psi in just a few seconds. A typical application for this booster is if you have a scuba tank and a regular old air compressor. And you currently fill paintball tanks with your scuba tank. As you know, the pressure in the scuba tank will continuously drop until it is unusable. With this booster, your scuba tank, and regular air compressor, you can fill paintball tanks to 4500psi until your scuba tank reaches about 500psi, at which point, you get your scuba tank refilled, and keep on filling. This is the Cat Pump Model 311 with a 5 hp. Baldor motor. The Model 311 pump is the exact same pump as the Model 310. Except it's stainless steel instead if chrome plated brass. The Model 311 retails for $3,795 and the Model 310 for $1,178 and that's why you don't see the Model 311 very often. Nobody pays retail for these pumps and the retail prices were given as a comparision of the two models. The Model 311 cost about 3 times as much as the Model 310. This unit was used in the lab at a local eye glass manufacturing plant that I do work for. They moved to a smaller facility and could not take everything. Sold as-is with no warranty. Only pump is included as seen in pics. Will be bolted back together with crank separate for shipping. Used as a homeowner and an occasional rental house for the last several years. Oil was changed every year with probably 10-15 hrs use. Just rebuilt the head in February with genuine cat plungers totaling $160 in parts cause it was leaking oil and has about 40 mins of run time afterwards. I never changed the oil seals for the pistons so it still leaks oil. All the other seals appear to be fine. Also has a new site glass. At a minimum the three crank seals need replacing. Cat Pump. 4SF series. For parts or repair. Pump was maintained properly using only fresh cat oil every 50 hours. The last use showed the case oil getting milky due to water seeping into the crank area. Upon inspection, the unit has scored rods(part#46644) leading to water getting past the seals. The internals are in great shape, the pump was not run for more than a few minutes during the last run. This unit is a good rebuild candidate or a parts pump.
