Vintage Armstrong A20 stereo valve power amplifier with matching PCU25 valve pre-am p/ control unit Appears to be working with good sound on both channels. A20 is fitted with 8 Edicron valves. Has a damaged front label but is in great cosmetic condition. PCU 25 is missing a push-button knob and a front panel screw but otherwise in nice condition. All inputs, the input selector and the on/off, mono/stereo and LF/HF filter switches are functioning, the volume, bass, treble and balance controls operate smoothly. It's fitted with 5 Zaerix valves and the integral 14-pin connecting cable to the A20's interface socket is in good condition. The serial number is A2503. The supply voltage can be set between 100V and 250V by moving the selector plug on the A20's mains transformer to the correct position. The outputs can be set for 4. 8 or ... more16 ohm speakers. The units look to be in working order but due to their age they are listed as no t working. WATKINS COPICAT - Early Mk2 Valve Tape Echo - Guitar WEM Copy Cat Binson Sixties
WATKINS(WEM) COPICAT MK2 We're big users/collectors of vintage tape and disc echo units and have plenty of experience seeking out good examples of these vintage units. Check our other listings for other Copicats: we also have several early Watkins valve amps coming up for sale. We've sold many Copicats. Binsons etc to satisfied customers- see our feedback and buy with confidence. Offered for sale here is an early Mk2 Copicat dating from the early sixties in good cosmetic condition and as near-perfect working order for a 50 year-old valve Copicat as you could reasonably expect. This has undergone a thorough overhaul/service and has been fitted with a three-core earthed mains cable for electrical safety. The original Marriot heads are in excellent condition(see detailed photos below) this is as good-sounding an example of an original ... moremk2 Copicat as you're likely to find. Whilst this machine is in superb order sonically. Cosmetically-speaking it's not quite so good: it's had a non-original catch fitted to the case. Is missing one side catch, and has replacement vents and new rubber feet(see detailed photos below) There is also evidence of past woodworm infestation which is not uncommon. But we have had it treated(last two photos below show holes in case) Naturally, none of this affects the sound or performance of this fantastic echo machine. Compared to the later IC Copicats the valve units don't usually produce such clear echoes. Even when in good order. This sounds lovely both as a pre-amp and as an echo unit. All three heads work well and sound excellent- good strong repeats that break up in an evocative fashion, and run into self-oscillation when the'reverb' knob is turned up for authentic dub effects. The echoes have a good tone for an old valve Copicat and degrade with a dark crunchy quality- they cannot be described as accurate repeats as this is not a digital delay, but they have a sound and vibe that is most pleasing and create a unique effect that sounds'right' These
