Large piece of petrified wood from the Henry Mountain area of Utah. Beautiful display specimen. Contour polished with clear growth rings and small crystal areas. The variety of colors in this piece are amazing! The photos were taken in bright sun. Weighs 9 pounds 9 ounces on my scale and measures roughly 9"x6 3/4" at its widest area and 3 1/2" in width. Petrified wood occurs over a period of time when organic wood is replaced with minerals. The detail of cell structure is very nearly exact in petrified wood so that it looks like wood made of stone and can be many colors. The colors are produced by the following minerals: PINK. Set of four 4 blue, pink flower napkin rings! Town and Country, made in Taiwan
DESCRIPTION& CONDITION In this auction is a set of four lovely white napkin rings with a floral pattern in pinks. Blues, greens and browns! Three of them have stickers on the inside that say they were made by Town and Country. In Taiwan- I'm not sure if they're vintage, but they certainly have a neat retro styling. They measure about 1 11/16 wide by about 1 3/8 inches tall. They seem to be made of possibly a ceramic material or some type of glass? As for the wear, there are some minor chips here and there and some stray marks or little specks that got trapped under the glaze, as well as some dirt along the edges that didn't come off when I washed them and some breaks/fading in the designs, especially along the rims. But I can't find any major cracks or breaks, no big stains or other big issues. They're really a darling ... moreset! I soaked them for a bit in detergent to get off any strange smells and any sticky residues, so they're ready to go. They come from a smoke-free home. A truly outstanding set of silver napkin rings of very heavy gauge. Band width is 1.25" Oval Diameter is 1.5" by 1.75" Weight is 53 grams per ring. The napkin rings are in excellent condition. It is difficult to decipher the maker of the items. As they surely originated as part of a set. In such sets, it was common for the larger pieces only to adorn the silversmith's markings. These napkin rings were found with various other silver tableware items. Including silver flatware with silversmith's markings that suggest manufacturing between 1861 and 1871 by William Rogers, a master American silversmith and the pioneer of the silver flatware industry. This lens is in good shape. Focus ring nice and smooth the way it should be. Aperture ring is snappy. Glass with no marks or scratches. No fungus, no blemishes.
