Hi you are bidding on a quad set of Ecc88 6DJ8 Mullard valves all with matching codes G A 3 B O F 2 etched into the bottom of the valve.They could have been made in the Black burn factory in the 1960 s but please check it out for yourself as Im no expert. These valves were removed by me from working equiptment(in fact it was a real old scope that was no longer being used. so here they are for auction. I dont have the means to test to see how much life is left in these valves but as with all test equiptment its not continuously being used so there could be quite a lot of life left in these,please bid accordingly. I am pleased to offer this RARE cornet. I have had it 20 years. Play it"all the time" but I am down-sizing. This horn is in"near perfect" condition. There are a couple of"dings" but I have been advised to leave them alone. If you are a Civil War musician enthusiast. This is"your horn. There is NO red rot. I work on an NQA basis: no questions asked. If you do not like it. Return it. I do not need a reason. You pay return costs. I rinse out my horns every week. Cleaned, dents removed, etc. There are still a few small pings and scratches to be expected from a 98 year old instrument. If you look carefully, you can see where some small dents were removed, but overall it's in very good condition. The"A" stop rod and tuning screw are missing, as is common for these, but they aren't needed for playing. All the ... moremounting posts are there, so if you can locate some from another old horn, they are ready to be mounted. Silver plate is 99% Just a few specks missing. But no thin or worn spots. Most imperfections are too small to be seen in the pictures. Valves have been plated with copper and two layers of nickel. And hand-lapped into the casings between platings. They are very air-tight and smooth. See the valve photo. All mouthpieces fit the receiver(both old Holton taper and modern taper shanks) GREAT PLAYER. I think the Holton-Chicago trumpets are slightly better players than the later"Revelation" and other models from the years in Elkhorn. Wisconsin. The Chicago models are more open and free-blowing, and have a little more"edge, but still a dark sound. The auction is for the trumpet only. No case or mouthpiece. The instrument is not tarnished or colored. The pink/red color in the photos is from the lighting used to take the pictures. The silver trumpet on a white background looked pretty bland so I threw in some color. I don't care for it in hindsight. Purchased these from a aeronautical museum closing on the north side of Chicago. The curator was a pilot from WWII and was an avid collector of all things related to aviation. As you can see these are nicely designed bookends with an historical significance assigned to them. Would make a great addition to any WWII collector or Aeronautical buff. At the end nuts there are serial numbers etched into the nut; hard to get a photograph but they are there.

Frank Holton Co. Revelation" Trumpet 1925"Revelation" Model Bb trumpet made by Frank Holton Co. Elkhorn, Wisconsin. 1925. Fully restored, complete with a valve job. This horn is a player, not just to look at. If you want a beautiful vintage horn that looks great and plays like the original, you'll have to wait a long time for another like this to turn up. And none of the other Holtons on eBay will have had a valve job to restore the playing qualities. Please see all the PHOTOS BELOW. Satin Silver Plate Gold-wash Bell Valves copper and nickel plated Bore: about.457" Low(modern) Pitch Reversed leadpipe EXCELLENT condition. Clean inside and out. Has had NO major repair work done in its life. Everything is as original. A few small dents were removed from the bell and other tubing. And only a few tiny pings remain that ... morecannot be removed, to be expected for a instrument 88 years old. The silver is original and 99% good, not worn through. The gold wash in the bell is good, but getting a little thin. The engraving on the bell is very sharp and clear. The only real cosmetic flaws I can see are minor pliers marks on two valve caps, two flecks of missing silver plate, plus the mentioned tiny pings. There are no significant scratches. Please see the photos for condition. Most flaws are too small to be visible in photographs. The main tuning slide can be pulled to put the horn in"A" The"A" stop rod and tube mechanism(Holton patent Oct. 21. 1924) are missing. The valves have been plated with copper and nickel with hand-lapping between. The are very smooth and air-tight. Accepts both old Holton taper mouthpiece shanks and modern(Bach) tapers. You don't have to change your mouthpiece to play this horn. GREAT PLAYER. Great response from top to bottom. These Holton models are known for their dark sound. Popular with jazz players, but you can play it in any setting. Just change the mouthpiece cup depth for a change in sound. It has a compact sound that doesn't break up at high vol

ITT valve that needs new diaphragm, 1/2" triclamp/ triclover fittings(gray valve in photo) Stem on diaphragm broke. Rest of the valve is OK. Saunders 3/4" sanitary valve with no diaphragm. Bonnet and body are in good shape. Just needs a new diaphragm. Last. A Saunders PN16 sanitary valve body. 1 inch triclamp on, 3/4" triclamp and 1/2" triclamp. Needs two valve bonnets and diaphragms.
