This dispenser would have been on the counter, inside the old gas station, hardware, sporting goods, or General store. This was a"Trade Stimulator" designed to bring in, and provide service to customers. The intent was that the customer would purchase ... moreother items, while he was inside the business. The dispenser was designed to look like the Dayton"Bell Boy" gas pump, made between 1926-1935. Check"Gas Pumps Identification and Prices" by Jack Sim. The original pump appears on page#127. This dispenser, was made by the same company that made the actual"full size" gas pump that it was modeled after. The Dayton Co. filed for a patent in 1928, And this Patent info, ads to the wonderful history of this piece. The end of the spout is covered by a"spring loaded" return tube, that is hollow, and allows any drips from the spout, to be returned to the resevoir/holding tank.This tube would be pushed out of the way, the lighter placed under the spout, and by pushing down on the"spring loaded" button on top of the pump, the lighter would be filled with fluid. It is missing a small glass that is at the top of the dispenser as pictured. Has a working original lock and key. The glass cylinder(which is plastic) has a small stress crack that I have shown in the pictures. This is a used working Kremlin fluid pump. It originally was used with a spray gun at pressures to 700psi. It sprayed glue. The inlet air pressure is a maximum 100 psi and converts the pumped material up to 700 psi. This comes with a manifold filter assembly and a suction assembly that needs a new rubber fluid suction hose. No hose or gun comes with this but any commercial air-assist airless gun and hose assembly will attach and work. If you don't have an existing hose and gun. There are some inexpensive alternative gun/ hose assemblies now. check out the Milwaukee consumer air assist airless. you can find them used from $200, even if you have to throw away the rest of the machine.
