Unit calibration expired in 2005. Cosmetically the unit looks real nice with the exception of a few places. The Volts/dbm knob was tightened down too much and is cracked pretty badly. It could use a new knob. One of the digits in the display on the signal generator is missing its bottom bar. Please see photos for a visual representation. MODEL. FEATURES, CONDITION: The Eico Model 315 is an impressive looking piece of test equipment to have on the bench with its large central tuning dial. Black control knobs, dual pilot lighted dial window, and“suitcase” style portability. The instrument was recently serviced, and the old obsolete Amphenol output connectors were replaced with BNC type that will be much more compatable with today’s cables and adapters. The old oozing wax/ foil capacitors were replaced with modern caps of the proper voltage rating, and it was obvious that this piece had seen very little use, as there were no discolored, swollen or stressed components, nor any dust build-up on the beautifully preserved copper plated chassis. The old stiff power cord was replaced with a safe pliable one, and the unit was tested. Generator will prove to be a valuable instrument ... moreto have when aligning radios, etc where you can switch in the on-board modulation circuit or externally modulate a signal on top of the RF signal. RF signal is adjustable from 75 KHz all the way up to 150 MHz in six adjustable steps on the Band Selector. Smoothly geared tuning condenser has great stability, and the dial index mark accurately points to the proper frequency calibrations. Photos of the electronics will show that this unit has a neat layout on a copper plated chassis. Pots and switches have been properly cleaned and work well, with switches positively engaging. The unit has been tested, and the signals are present at all frequencies. The audio test signal is working as well with a very clean sine wave output. Modulation circuit works as well, and it was interesting to have a radio nearby to listen to the beat note and whistling as the IF and RF frequencies were being matched. Cosmetics are excellent overall with a fine gray textured wrinkle finish on the cabinet, clean front panel, and the carry handle is safe and sturdy. Heathkit IGW-19(IG-102S) RF Signal Generator- Nice! Here's a very nice. Clean Heathkit model IGW-19 signal generator. It is factory wired and, except for the color, is identical to the IG-102S. It covers the frequency range from 100 KHz to 110 MHz on six fundamental bands, and from 110 to 220 MHz on a calibrated band of harmonics. It's output can be modulated externally or with it's own internal 400 Hz oscillator. The model IGW-19/ IG-102S differs from the more common model IG-102. It that it has two output jacks on the face of the instrument that provide a high level output directly from the RF oscillator. This output was to be used for instruction purposes with the Berkeley Physics Laboratory course book. I find that with a short antenna connected to these jacks, and an input to the external modulation connector, I have a dandy ... morelow power transmitter that can broadcast around my house. Hi-Fi? No. High fun? You bet! I set the generator at 5 MHz then hooked it up to my'scope to get a photo of the unmodulated signal. Then I turned on the internal modulation and took another. Then I then connected the output to my frequency counter to check accuracy. It read 5.003032 MHz. Which is 0.06% dial error! I made sweeps of all the bands and found the output frequency accuracy exceeded Heath's specifications by a considerable margin. This instrument is more than accurate enough for its intended purpose of aligning radios, without having to rely on an external frequency counter to check dial accuracy. The'scope and counter and their connecting cables are not included in the auction, of course. The Heathkit IG-102 may well have been the single most popular RF signal generator ever sold. It could be found in many HAM shacks. On the benches of professional radio& TV repair shops, and in hobby use. Its popularity was no doubt due to its relatively low cost, ease of construction and maintenance, and the fact that it delivered everything you really needed to get the job done. This is a nice. Clean, Heathkit model# IG-102 RF Signal Generator. I received it as part of a large lot of used Amateur Radio and electronic test equipment. It appears to be in good condition and work okay, but because of its age it is sold as-is- it may need recalibration or other maintenance performed. The only testing I did was to select some frequencies on my ICOM IC-761 HF/Shortwave Receiver, and I was able to hear the output of this signal generator on the Receiver, as I turned the IG-102's frequency dial to match that of the Receiver. The IG-102 Signal Generator has a built-in 400-Hz audio tone generator. And it will also accept an external tone or modulation source, or provide output of the internal 400-Hz tone generator for use with other test equipment. Coarse and fine adjustments are available for the RF output signal, and ... morevariable level control for the internal tone generator. Sold AS-IS FOR PARTS. No Returns. Unit powers on and the 10 MHz reference signal works(confirmed by a frequency counter in the second picture) First picture shows result of pressing the status button. The relays can be heard clicking as the output power is increased or decreased. All front panel buttons seem to respond as expected. And tested special function codes work(e.g. Deviation meter code goes to correct setting- but don't know if the deviation meter works) Could be as simple as an internal fuse for all I know. I don't know enough about signal generators- and don't have time to thoroughly test and repair. You're welcome to request any simple tests. If I can perform them quickly, I may be able to update results to the posting.

A very good RF Wide Range signal generator for trouble shooting and aligning HF receivers. Broadcast radios, CB radios, and Ham Radio boat anchors. Had this signal generator for more than 15 years on my radio bench and it was a very useful and easy to maintain generator. The great thing about this generator is that parts will likely always be available if it needs repair. That's not true for the HP signal generator I now have on the bench. This generators knobs. Meters and lights work as they should. Modulator deck was recapped and tubes recently tested. The generator comes with hard to find adapters, spare fuses, and a spare pilot bulb for the dial.
