The helmet is in good condition for its age, but it does have some wear around the looking glass, where someone would have set it down after they were finished welding. What appear to be scratches all across the surface of the helmet are in fact the exposed fibers of the fiberglass. If you so desired, you would be able to use the helmet for welding, as the pockmarks on the glass do not obscure your sight. The helmet measures about twelve inches tall, nine inches wide, and six and a half inches deep. The window in front measures four and a half inches across and two and one-fourth inches tall. Speedglas helmet! Light weight! Comes with two extra outside lens covers. Tried to take pictures to show your view through the working lens but the one with it dark would only show reflection of the camera. I tried it(with mig sorry no tig to test with so please don't ask me to try it with it) and it seemed to work just fine once I got it adjusted to my liking. I'm selling my Jackson Nexgen EQC 3N1 Auto darkening welding helmet. Jackson is one of the top brands as far as welding helmets go. I purchased it brand new 6 months or so ago for about 250 dollars. Optrel Expert Uvex Satellite Welding Helmet Lens * dead battery
Please read the entire auction so you know what you are bidding on. This is an Optrel Expert Uvex Satellite Welding Helmet Lens. This was taken out of my optrel satellite due to the fact that it was not holding a charge for more than a few hours. Thus each day I would have to put it back in the sun to charge the internal batteries. Then the next day it would be dead again and have to be placed out in the sun again. I don't know if this can be opened successfully to replace the batteries inside as the housing is epoxied shut. But perhaps someone with the right tools and a lot of care could do the job and put in new rechargeable batteries. Working Lens can be worth well over $100.00 as they are essentially the most expensive part of the helmet, the rest is just plastic. Winning bidder will take this lens. The glass is flawless. May have ... moresome dust spots in the picture and the back was always covered with the plastic safety lenses. Control dials work as they should and the device(outside from not holding the charge for more than a day due to failed internal batteries) works just as it should and can be welded with perfectly.
