VINTAGE BAKELITE CUP EYE, GLASS LENS WELDING GOGGLES~ USE FOR SPEEDSTER/AVIATOR?
Here's an old pair of vintage bakelite welding goggles that are a little rough but may have some possibilities for other uses. Or at least as a vintage display item. Beings how they're used welding goggles they do have a few of the blems that go with that use, including splatter on the tinted glass lenses and torn head straps. Photos 3& 4 show a nice'lightning strike' design on the outer edges, although they also show a difference in the surface color from side to side that may be permanent- I didn't try any type of cleaner on the goggles. Photo 9 shows that one side of the frames has a clear& tinted lens together with a gasket, while the other side is 1 thick tinted lens. If a nice pair of the right thickness clear lenses could be obtained, these might make nice vintage aviator, motorcycle, or Model T speedster ... moregoggles. These are a nice design with a contoured fit and air vents by the eyes(photo 6) They also have an eye width adjustment with a simple'ball chain' snap in set-up(photo 7) The threaded lens holders are in good shape, although 1 has a couple of welding berry burns on it. Photo 10 shows what they look like without the tinted lenses. The goggles are being sold as is, with several possibilities for their use.

Original vintage Wilson motorcycle. Welding safety goggles. They are made of clear flexible plastic for a great look. The googles flex in the middle for a comfortable fit. These are large steampunk goggles measuring 2 inches in diameter at the lens. They have clear glass lenses and you will also recieve a pair of dark lenses for the goggles. You simply unscrew the black lens cap to change lenses. They are in nice condition and not broken. They show some wear to the plastic frames and metal vents as can be expected of vintage goggles. Really rare find! A 1920's BESCO model H micro-welding torch in very good condition. I have collected tools for a while now and I've never seen one of these. It appears to be for jewelry making. Or something similar. It is certainly intended for precision work. I tested for airflow through both tubes and valves, both worked. It was made by BESCO(Battery Equipment and Supply Company) sometime in the 1920's. It has a patent date of 9-21-20, so it was made sometime after that. Up for sale today is a vintage Forney Arc Welders Welding Instruction and Shop Manual. This soft cover manual is 69 pages. And measures approx. 5 3/8" x 8 3/8" No exact date is given, but I would guess this manual dates to the 1940s or 1950s. It tells you everything you would want to know about welding with an arc welder, while putting in plugs for various Forney models. The booklet is in good condition, having been stored away for years. There is light storage and use wear, including edge/corner wear and light age discoloration possible. Its very readable, and would make a nice addition to your collection.
