It is loaded with pitch(tree sap) which makes it wear like iron. This apron will easily last for another 41+ years. Leg straps missing. The gloves are used, never for welding, mostly light duty household chores.

Blue watered silk grosgrain ribbon outlines the white kid leather. There are two silver“tassels” that are very 3 dimensional with silver bullion. The field is decorated with flat silk cockades in pale blue. There are stains& the silk backing is breached along the bottom, but this one is still a special apron& worthy of your collection. There is not a cord to hold the apron on, but rather a silk sash with a silver buckle. The silver is tarnished& unmarked, but it has every appearance of being sterling. antique/ vintage FREE MASON'S APRON burgundy leather(calfskin or kid glove leather) on one side with gross grain rosettes and lining on the front side in pale blue and burgundy on an off white background. the belt of this piece features a serpent which is the belt clasp on one side. The silk or satin fabric has shattered and is almost completely detached from one side of the apron, however it is a small repair to make and can be done at home if you would like to refurbish the piece. this piece has no free mason medallions or insignias visible. At least not that i can recognize. being sold as is. i know less than nothing about free masonary but had to own these pieces at least for a moment. And now they need to live with you!

Hello all! Up for Auction here is a mighty old looking Mason's Apron hailing from Keystone Lodge in Linwood. N.J. From the looks of this apron, I would have to date it as being older than my grandfather. I found it folded up in his one of his drawers after his passing(he would be 92 right now) He was a member of the lodge there, but the aprons nowadays have a sort of quick snap to the strings. My guess is that this belonged to his father. I have seen only one other one on ebay like this one and it was dated to 1911, but dont quote me on any date, because I am the farthest thing from an archivist of these types of memorabilia. There's nothing written on the lines under the flap. You can see that in the second picture and also where it shows yellowing in certain sections. This just needs some t.l.c. a little handwashing and leather ... morepolish and I am sure it will look better.it's old, what can I say.the strings are in good condition, again yellowing, but they hold firm onto the apron itself. This Apron measures: 15 1/2 inches x 13 3/4 inches Thank you for looking.
