Optrel OS Evolution Auto Darkening Welding Helmet *Used Cond. Needs Repair*
This auction is for my Optrel OSEvolution welding helmet. It is in good used condition cosmetically. But unfortunately it is not currently working. It had been working perfectly until the day it rolled off of my tailgate and onto a concrete floor, after which it would no longer auto-darken. All of the switches operate normally, and the lens is perfect, but it will not darken. I had a deadline on the job the day my Optrel quit working so I was forced to purchase a new helmet. I always thought I'd have this one repaired because it's a better helmet than my new one, but I simply don't weld often enough to justify spending more money on having this helmet repaired. Also included in this auction is a brand new outer lens(curved to fit helmet) The head band adjustment knob came loose and has tape over it to keep it in place(see photo) ... moreit still adjusts, just needs the tape to keep knob from popping off. If you have one of these helmets then you already know how good they are. This helmet would make an excellent spare parts helmet. Or send it out for repair and put it back into service. I am selling my 3M Speedglas 9000 utility model auto darkening welding helmet. Its been a great helmet but I just got a good deal on an X model so I took the opportunity to upgrade. I could not imagine going back to a non Speedglas helmet after using this helmet with my TIG welder. The helmet does not come with batteries. The winner of the auction will need to pick up two DL2082 batteries. The mask has some scuffs and scrapes, it is used, but the electronic lens is perfect not a blemish in it. The protective lenses have the usual wear for a used mask.

For mig and flux core welding mostly(which produces hot flying sparks,that explains the slight dings here and there on the shell) that in no way affects the operation of the lens. This lens has 3 modes, weld mode shades 9-13, torch cutting mode shade 5, and grind mode shade 3. Large viewing area. It also has the upgraded jackson 370 headgear for added comfort.
