VINTAGE MCM MID CENTURY MODERN LUCITE ACRYLIC Rolling Organizer Shelf File
This is an authentic Mid-Century Modern piece. I got it at an upscale estate in Chicago and everything in the house was from the 50s and 60s. It has many uses but I think it is meant to be a file shelf. You could also use it for make-up. Sheet music or just as a pretty knick knack shelf. The 7 removable shelves all slide out so you can use as many as you want or make space to put taller things in between them. It measures 28 1/2" tall, 10 1/2" wide, and 12" deep. A piece of legal size paper fits fine with room on the sides. It has 4 chrome wheels for easy moving. As you can see in the pictures it is in excellent condition with no cracks in the acrylic. Hard to photograph in the frame with glass and is in excellent condition with frame. Cree Nation 1958- 1995. ISAAC BIGNELL was a Cree painter from the Pas Reservation. Which is located four hundred miles North of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. After leaving the reservation, Isaac lived in Winnipeg, for a period of time, before moving to Minneapolis. At various times he lived in Vancouver and developed many contacts with galleries to represent his work. Isaac was primarily a self-taught painter who used acrylics to create his powerful, yet subdued images. Isaac worked through various approaches to his artwork, which developed into a distinct style that reveals fluidity and ... morespirituality. My art is strongly influenced by the traditional ways of my people. I was brought up to live off the land from an early age. Hunting and trapping. Living in harmony with the earth has taught me to respect the animals and the spirit and power of nature. I hoop-dance and sing Pow Wows to maintain my cultural heritage. Through art and dancing, I attempt to influence Native people to continue their cultural ways; the gift that was given to us by the Great Spirit. Unfortunately. Isaac passed away in 1995 at the young age of 37, but his artwork still lives on in many private collections worldwide. His spirit will always be remembered by his close friends and fellow artists. He was devoted to Native traditional ways which included his Native art, singing, dancing, and drumming. He was able to teach others in these ways with his outgoing and friendly personality which everyone respected and he always had a smile for everyone. This Painting in this auction is phenomenal. The artist is an amazing artist. The Painting itself is 12" x 8 15/16" the matte is 13 1/2" x 10 1/2" the frame is 16 3/4" x 13 3/4" The frame is a burled wood frame that is absolutely beautiful. With a dark blue matte, green back ground with all the boy scout badges painted in the back round with the boy scout standing in front of the wall of badges. It is painted by Chuck Yanosky, however it is done in Norman Rockwell style, If it didn't have Chuck Yanosky's name on the bottom corner of the painting I would guess that Norman Rockwell.
