Scarce 15" WOODEN PRINTER'S DRAWER Antique Wood Type Set Shelf Very small size
Very Early. OLD Antique Wooden PRINTER'S DRAWER, very small size. This has NOT been cut down or refasioned, but is in its original size and shape. You can see some of the numbers stamped above the columns. Sides are single-mortised, and back is WOOD, not plywood. It is similar to the thin wood that was used to make shipping crates. No manufacturer name that I can see. SIZE: 15" by 7 1/4" 7/8" SLOTS are about 5/8" wide. Measured inside. That is an ESTIMATE, and some may be slightly larger, some slightly smaller. CONDITION: Very good ANTQUE. Some darkening of wood. Comensurate with age. Please look at all pix. This old drawer will look teriffic in an Antique or Steampunk Decor, or used as a Primitive shelf. Here I have a huge lot of original(1920s era I'm guessing) printing press furniture/spacers. They are all thin and vary in lengths from a couple inches to probably 10 inches. They are almost all about 5/8" wide and 1/8" thick but they do vary. HUNDREDS of pieces. I would guess around 350 but I have not counted them all. They almost completely fill a large flatrate priority box. As is no returns. Great. Beautiful rich patina on these. They are clean and ready to go! Good luck!

Very old antique wood type tray. Measures about 26.5"x18.5"x1.5" Wood is in good shape. The back panel has some splitting in the wood. The handle is some sort of cast metal. Makes for a great sorter or wall hanger. Shadow box, etc. What rea lly struck me about this particular tray is that the wood that makes up the bottom or pack depending on how you look at it. It actual wood slats. Normally in vintage models of these that I have seen they are backed with ply or on the example of newer pieces, board of some type. This real wood slat method is much older i think.

Very Old Wooden (bottom, sides, dividers all wood) Printers Type Drawer Signed
Printer Type Drawer made entirely of wood. It is very sound for it's age which I believe to be about 150 years old based on the names written on the bottom of the box and the stenciling which is barely legible. The Names Downey& Brouse Indianapolis are written on the bottom which can be seen in photo#2. There is a reference to Captain Charles Brouse supervising the printing of documents for the Grand Old Army of the Republic in 1866. The firm of Downey and Brouse had ceased operations by 1887 according to a reference by Major Oliver M. Wilson. The inside of the drawer appears to have had a liner of paper all across the bottom beneath the drawer dividers which is in rough shape. The drawer does show some evidence of moisture contamination. Here's a unique antique printer's type tray or drawer that would make a nice addition to an industrial or primitive antique decor. Use it as is or use it as a"shadowbox" to display small treasures. Miniatures and/or photos. It has strips of copper(or. Possibly brass) trimming the top of the horizontal-running dividers. This trim has a really nicely aged patina. The color of the metal and the fact that there are spots of green-colored oxidation on it lead me to believe that it is copper. The edge of the tray/drawer where the handle is located is covered in painted metal(as is the handle) The handle was designed so that a card/sturdy paper can be slid into it. I do not find a manufacturer's name or any other identifying information on it. Pair of Traditional old tribal wood statues. rare Indiana Jones type stuff
These are two old wooden tribal statues from Indonesia. There are stickers on the bottom of each that say MADE IN iNDONESIA. They were both carved from a solid block of wood. There is some major splits. But i think it adds character. Hopefully you can see them clearly in the photos. Sadly i can only put 12 photos up. If you would like additional photos, i will be glad to email some to you. 0ne figure is 15inches tall and the other is about 19inches. The bottoms are uneven, but they still stand nicely.

This item is a vintage carved cedar wood chest-type box with a floral design and ridges on the ends. I think it is machine carved. It is too perfect to be hand-carved. I believe. It is very beautiful. It has dove-tailed corners and metal hinges and a fixture for a padlock. On the top in the center of the box is a home scene. The finish on the outside is varnished, but the inside is unfinished. There is a mirror on the inside lid with a border of roses, leaves, and vines in gold. It is 10-1/2" long by 6" wide, by 4" deep. But I have not personally run on a press, so I can not swear to the print quality. This Letter is USED and VERY OLD, therefore will have minor defects which may include scratches, blemishes, nicks, discoloration and ink buildup. THIS HISTORICAL WOOD LETTER is from the 132 year old newspaper/printing plant. The River Press. In Fort Benton, Montana. Lewis& Clark, beginning their famous expedition in St. Louis, Missouri, passed through the area in 1806 while they followed the Missouri River west in hopes of finding a trade route to the Pacific Ocean. To deal with the Indian problems, the first fort was built in the area in 1829, with the fort, Fort Benton. Being built along the Missouri River in 1846. By 1860 the first steamboat arrived up the river from St. Louis laden with supplies as the fort became a major supply source for the settling of Montana and Canada. In 1862 a Gold Rush in western Montana turned Fort Benton into"the world's innermost port" as by 1866 freight was piled"sky high" along the river from 31 steamboats, with 7 steamboats moored at one time along the Fort's levee. Up for grabs is a nice antique Printers Letterpress Slug or Type Tray in Black painted wood with Aluminum or steel Plate with numbers from 5 through 9 1/2. Tray measures 14.5 Long x 5 5/8 Tall x 1 5/8 deep. A super cool tray that was just pulled from a commercial printshop I sold. Does not include any leads or cables. Inside the lid is a Readrite Tube Tester Model 430 data chart and it also includes a supplementary tube chart as well.
