This printer was working great up to about a week ago. The magenta printhead has gone bad and has air in the Ink System. The tube end to the magenta ink is broken off. It will need a new ink system which runs about $250. I am upgrading to a different printing system and am not willing to put the money into this one. Roland Versacamm SP 300. Print & Cut Eco Solvent plotter printer cutter
Roland SP300. Works! Heads OK! This is the original SP300. Unit is well used but prints correctly. These older Roland Units do require some TLC to get the best possible print. And this one is no exception. Unit was recently serviced by dealer. Has recently received new pinch rollers, new calibration strip, new liner calibration sensor. Has new dampers and caps. Occassionally will glitch on print and cut operations whereby it stops contour cutting. I haven't figured out this glitch yet so expect it from time to time. If your prints rarely need to be contour cut. Then you'll likely have few issues with this other than the normal TLC these older SP300's require. FYI. The later versions used 4 heads. This original ones use two heads and is the reason for the TLC. Black and Cyan use one head, Yellow and Magenta use the other head. ... moreThe issue is sometimes the colors cross contaminate and the solution is a deep clean cycle to purge the ink from the head and get fresh ink into the head. We recently upgraded our plotter and are looking to sell our HP Designjet 800PS- 24" printer/plotter. Plotter has seen much use but has been well maintained. Still runs great and provides decent quality plotter printing for an older machine. This would come with a full set of new unopened ink cartridges. As well as the ink remaining in the plotter. The cartridges do not work with our new upgraded plotter. The cartridges alone make this a good deal for someone that doesn't necessarily need a high production or expensive plotter. HP has long discontinued producing this plotter and has now discontinued producing replacement parts. After market parts are available I am told. But didn't look into it. PRICE IS NEGOTIABLE. Details about item: NEW Carriage Belt. Belt completely crumbled and caused errors. Mechanically functional. However I think the printer heads are misaligned when printing both directions. Head alignment doesn't help. Was used indoors only in a smoke-free and pet-free area. Comes with paper roll. And paper catcher. Paper slicer/cutter head is missing. However the side cartridge which carries cutter is there. Minimum cosmetic damage. Black ink doesn't want to dispense. Magenta ink transport tube nozzle at the carriage end was cracked and leaked magenta everywhere at some point of its life. So I replaced the individual nozzle. Service station was experiencing issues. So i completely disassembled it, and cleaned every part of the gunked-up ink. Now service station works properly. This color graphics plotter was used to make hundreds of nametags for our church retreat. It was even small enough to throw in the suitcase and take to the camp where it made the last minute nametags. This printer was working when we put in the box several years ago. Since I don't have a computer with a parallel port any longer. I cannot test the unit on a computer. I powered up the printer and the little set of 4 squares test pattern prints, but I noticed that the color select does not rotate the print head. I hope there is an adjustment for that. If you are knowledgeable in the use of this little printer then you will know what to do. There are several rolls of paper and quite a few of the color pens.
