Up for auction is this vintage Nightingale Gooseneck Table Shop Light. Great for Steampunk or Mid-Century Modern decorating. Total length is 54 inches. With the actual neck at 42 inches. The light does work and has a push on/off switch. There is a second socket for a long neck bulb or screw in socket on the bottom section below the clamps. It appears to have a switch but stays on when plugged in, so it will need a new switch. I am not an electric guy so this will be up to the high bidder. I hope the photos go some way in conveying the beauty to this pair. They are certainly better in the flesh. The blue cut glass makes up the main structure of the classically shaped urns. The glass is very distincitve and has been cut with spherical cross hatched designs. The rest of the lamps have been created from intricately cast ormolu. The square pedestal base with an acanthus leaf reef. The elegant handles and the acanthus leaf top piece are all consistent to the classically referenced French empire style. These would look amazing with the right shade and it would be easy to hook these up to a power to give ... morelight.
