Vintage Antique Embosser/Corporate Seal. GENERAL INFORMATON- These were used between 1900-1940's in different sizes and shapes. The embossers have a lever that stands about 8" inches high. An upper and lower die that makes crisp impression an weight about 5-8 pounds. Used by companies, individuals and courts these Seal Presses were popular for many years until smaller, portable presses became the norm. This press has a height of 7 3/4" inches. Length 4 1/2" inches and wide 1 1/2" inches. The weight 2 3/4 pounds. Diameter of the seal is(Estimate)1 1/28" inches round. Some of the black painting is coming of. Nice vintage cast iron stamp seal embosser. I love the fact that you can still see some of the original decorative paint work on the side of this. I cannot get it working- I am sure there is a way to. But I couldn't figure it out. The handle moves freely, but the embossing plate does not move with it. As such, I could not read what is on the plate. Could be something really cool, I just don't know. Condition is as seen in the photos. Another fantastic estate find from Picker 413! Up for your consideration is this Franklin Signet Embosser with 4 rolls of foils. I do not know much about this product other than what it is labeld and reading about similar products here on e-Bay. I've taken several pictures to hopefully help you determine if all parts are there and for you to decide the condition you feel it is in. I have plugged it in and it DOES heat up. I will try to describe this to the best of my knowledge and the condition I see it in. If you would like more info or more detailed pictures please let me know. This item is labled Franklin MFG. Corp Norwood Masss. U.S.A. U.S. Pat. 2025691 CAN. Pat. 365284. On the handle it is marked Franklin Signet Embosser. The power switch features off.Low,med,high options. I only plugged it in and put it on high and the machine did get hot. As you can see in the pictures the ... morecord is frayed some near the power switch, I think it is just the insulation to the cord as this powered up and there were no sparks or sizzling noises. The wooden case is in sturdy, solid condition with a drawer for suppllies. The paint has rubbed off some and there are some surface scratches. Included are 4 rolls of Dura foil. The silver colored roll is unused and labeled Dura Colored Foil. There are 3 gold foil rolls, 2 are used and 1 is unused and labeled 23K Dura Gold Leaf. There are also several cardboard like pieces that look like slides to a microscope. The machine itself feels solid and the handle moves freely. The black knob on the side also turns but could use some oil. There is light surface rust on the light metal colored pieces that may or may not come off. The wooden base measures 9.25" long, 6.5" wide and 2.5" tall. Please look at the pictures to determine if this is complete. I am selling this AS IS and how you see it in the pictures. I honestly do not know the value of this item with the foils so I will accept the best offer. The reel in the back needs to be replaced or repaired(as pictured) The wheel turns fines and the letters come out fine but since their is not much tension the label does not come out as it should(see picture of the label I tried to create) Not sure if this machine should cut after you are finished but it is easy to cut just the same.
