We then set the item to"1000" volts and"150" milliamp and tested the item from 0-1000. The volt meter read a max voltage of"600" even with the max voltage set at"1000" We are unsure the reason for this and can not determine if there is an issue with the item. ISCO 494 Electrophoresis DC Power Supply For sale- an ISCO Model 494 Electrophoresis DC Power Supply. The supply is capable of delivering up to 2000VDC. And as you can see in one of the later pictures in fact I have dialed it up to that max output and lived to tell about it. Unfortunately most VOM’s don’t go nearly that high. And having fried more than several cheap meters over the years I didn’t really want to fry a decent Fluke. So I just dialed it up to an arbitrary setting and measured it there. Rock solid output at a measured 377 volts. And I think if you look at the close up of the voltage meter that is pretty much what it is reading as well. So if I can crank that meter up to 2000 chances are pretty good it is putting out the max voltage although I cannot confirm that theory. Nor do I have a method for testing the output current. And ... moreplease note that like all similar power supplies. While they put out a lot of voltage the max current is typically measures in milliamps. Looks like the highest setting for that would be 300 milliamps but only at lower voltages. When you set the knob on the 2000VDC output side of the range it looks like the max current setting drops to 90 milliamps. Again. I have no way to test current output and the power supply is untested other than as described. NO warranty is offered. However. IF you pay the asking price and find it has a problem you cannot live with within 14 days of receipt you may return it. Returns are ONLY allowed on Buy It Now Purchases. ABN American BioNuclear EPS-250 Electrophoresis Power Supply For sale- an ABN American BioNuclear EPS-250 Electrophoresis Power Supply. Other than the color this looks basically identical to the Pharmacia EPS-250. So I guess it is possible it was made by Pharmacia and rebadged ABN. But if I had to guess I would say a third party power supply manufacturer like E-C probably built them for whoever wanted to buy enough to do a different production run with their name on it. I assume that the 250 would designate it a 250 volt PS. But this one cranks up and indicates 312 volts and the measured output as you can see on my VOM(not included) is almost 302VDC. It has not been tested under load. When I first got this it would not power up. When I checked the fuse it wasn’t the right size, much too small. I think I put a standard 2A fuse in to test it ... moreand it seems to work fine. But I don’t know what the correct fuse value should be so it may well pop the fuse the first time you use it if in fact it should be a higher value or a slow blow or both. Untested other than as described. Sold as is, and NO warranty is offered. However.
