The light flickered initially and then burned a consistent blue-violet hughe. We turned the knobs on the side. Some of the knobs changed the angle of the lamp inside the housing. Others worked the angle of mirrors inside the housing. We are unable to verify the performance of the secondary lamp. We do not have a power supply for it. From Manufacturer: The regulating transformer REDYX. Which can only be used for A.C. may be changed over for voltages 220-240 or 110-130 volts after the casing has been removed. The control knob switched the current on and off as well. The maximum load of 6 amps is indicated by a red mark on the built-in ammeter. It must not on any account be exceeded, as otherwise the lamp will burn out in a very short time. For bright-field microscopy a current of about 4 amps is sufficient. To achieve a type of illumination similar to daylight for bright and dark field microscopy, the blue filter should be inserted in the slit on the lamp housing. The full load of 5 1/2 to 6 amps is only necessary for dark-ground microscopy or when using polarised light, and for photomicrographic work. When the lamp is used for coolor photomicrography with aritificial ... morelight film and its maximum load, no filter is required because of the good spectrum composition of the light source.
